Things I learned today (Part 2)

The last and indeed only instance of this practice during my conscious life was when Manchester United humped Liverpool at Old Trafford in a live ITV match on Sunday January 1st, 1989, and then meekly lost to Middlesbrough at Ayresome Park, the following afternoon, Monday January 2nd. Middlesbrough would go on to be relegated.

Ayresome Park has remained a bogey ground for Manchester United and to this day they still haven’t won there since.

With the recent death of Brigitte Bardot, of the 58 people mentioned in Billy Joel’s hit song ‘We Didn’t Start The Fire’, there now remain only 3 still alive - Chubby Checker (84), Bob Dylan (84) and Bernie Goetz (78).

The village of Fucking, Austria changed its name to Fugging in 2021 as residents had become tired of British tourists, some of whom would steal road signs with the village’s name on them.
