Things I learned today (Part 2)

The Grand National was on yesterday. :flushed:

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain plays for Celtic.

Hearts are on top of the Scotch soccer league, and Celtic are way behind both Hearts and Rangers on goal differential and could very well finish 3rd.

I heard on the radio that they were lining up, first I’d heard :man_shrugging:
So I opened my paddy power account and put down two small bets for a giggle, completely random like the old days

Anyway while the race was on I looked at paddy power to see which horses I had picked but it wouldn’t tell me, just said I had two bets pending,
Pretty shit service, maybe PP were overloaded at that time

Anyway the National is gone the way of Cheltenham and the Dublin Horse Show, nobody gives a fuck anymore

And I read all that just to see if you won.

Armagh are playing Tyrone in the Ulster Football Championship today.

Long time since you’d have Derry playing Down in the Ulster quarter-final at the end of May on your mind for the previous seven months.

Just shows you how far Ulster football has fallen

Tyrone played Armagh yesterday in the football championship.

I remember a time when the whole country stopped to watch them play.

Just shows you how far Ulster football has fallen.

There is a Japanese anime novel series called Clannad which has nothing to do with our Clannad.

It was created by a person called Jun Maeda, which is the same surname as the lad who plays for Celtic, and released initially in 2004.

Maeda named his creation Clannad because he thought Clannad was the Irish word for family, and I suppose it nearly is (Clann as Dobhair).

There are two soundtrack albums that go with this series and I’ve just accidentally heard one of the tracks from them after the YouTube algorithm presented it to me and it’s really rather wonderful and beautiful and I thought initially it might been our Clannad, but it isn’t.

The second track here might as well be from the Legend album it’s that similar.
