While motorways aren’t flavour of the month currently he’d some smashing ideas on connectivity the length and breadth of Europe.
We’d have all been in electric Passats now if he’d hung on. A gas man all the same.

Up to the early 20th century, US states had laws that outlawed Catholics from holding public office unless they swore an oath denouncing the Pope. South Carolina was the last state to remove that law from the books.
