Things that are right

Just add a few ponies and horses into the mix, Fran. Available at your local Britains agent.[/quote]

I would have to restrict it to an old mare to pull the plough and maybe an ass or two to keep the thistles at bay. Don’t want her thinking there’ll be a stud farm for her to walk in to.

There were three boys in our family so there was a fairly decent farm by the time the youngest brother took over alright. I preferred the soldiers though. Cowboys and indians were alright too, even if the indians always came in a variety of shit, non-threatening poses. Cowboys and indians used often come with that fairly unimpressive plastic terrain map as well which didn’t add as much as they must have thought it would.

I always preferred the soldiers too.

You could buy a big massive plastic bag full of them if i remember correctly. I wonder what they cost, must have been cheap enough though. I had loads, found a few around the house a few years ago when i was tidying out something.

I had soldiers that looked something like these as well, more upmarket.

The Matchbox soldiers were the kings of toy soldiery. I think you were buying the really shit low quality soldiers Dunph.

Apparently some nerds or auld fellas in places like England used to actually paint these fellas but what was the point of that really?

An absolute bastard to stand on in your bare feet.

Lovely stuff. That brings back the memories of putting out armies of the little feckers across the upstairs landing.

Halcyon days indeed.

Who would have known that the Nazis fought under the black red and yellow tricolour that would become the postwar flag?

Who says they’re Nazis?

This is the classic cowyboy and indian set, several of them in no fit pose for a combat situation

Wehrmacht then. I don’t remember the Bundeswehr deploying in any theatre of war, especially with coalscuttle helmets and stick grenades.

To follow on the theme of this thread

Got a big bag of these for a pound in the local shop.

They were quality.

Selling swastika emblazoned toys would be a risky business move I suppose.

Two cracking episodes of the Simpsons just over on Channel 4, the one where Marge gets addicted to gambling and when Homer becomes a Vigilante

Heston Blumenthal was on the front of a paper over the weekend

Watching the episode here where Homer eats what they suspect is poisonous fish in the Japanese restaurant and he is told he has 24hrs left to live. There is some cracking one-liners in it.
