I’m not in favour of all this Daily Mail “political correctness gone mad, it’s all Brussells’ fault” bullshit but this sort of crap really annoys me. Someone from the Rape Crisis centre said that he should never equate a cricket match to the serious crime of rape. Does nobody understand metaphors anymore? If he said they were murdered, would there be a similar outcry? Is rape worse than murder?
My main problem with this isn’t the outrage, it’s the stupidity of people who don’t understand language. It has me terribly annoyed.
