Having such a significant one as Liverpools currently is, most definitely is anyway.
Farmer badly exposed here.

You might need to flesh that out a little for @farmerinthecity - Can you use your I.T wizardry and draw up diagrams, pie charts and illustrations to explain it to him.
If level on points.
So going into the last day.
Liverpool sit in fourth with 75 points.
Spurs are fifth with 74 points.
Liverpool draw to take them to 76 points.
Spurs win to take them to 77 points.
Liverpool have a much better goal difference hence have an additonal ‘point’.
Who qualifies for the Champions League?

If Man Utd win the CL this year, they do.

That’s a well made point, bro… But in order to overhaul Liverpool, Spurs need a 7 point better record between now and seasons end due to Liverpool’s superior goal record- Finishing level is not good enough therefore giving Liverpool’s goal difference a value of .5- Your scenario is just plucked out of thin air- we are working with facts here and likelyhoods on given form etc. Are you telling me a book keeper won’t have that goal difference worked into their odds for who can finish 4th? It essentially gives Liverpool a 2.5 game breathing space over their rivals for 4th.
Oh so it’s 0.5 now. What is the scientific basis behind that?
The facts are that Liverpool are six points clear of Spurs with a vastly superior goal difference.
What’s the need of all this vitual points, quarter of a point, half a point etc?
Yeah, .5…remember you replied to an earlier post of mine when I said .5 ?

There isn’t a need- but with each game that passes and the gap stays the same the less likely Spurs are to over overhaul Liverpool. It’s simple really. Some poor lads was just trying to be optimistic about Liverpool’s season and you had to rain on his parade. You Cunt.
I’d say @Mark Renton, @TreatyStones, @myboyblue and @glasagusban also say that a wide is as good as a score coming to the end of a GAA match.
And that away goals count double.
Or that it is better to be behind after the first leg of a tie so you won’t get into the potentially disastrous defensive mentality, as @briantinnion once suggested.
Lads looking over their shoulders at Spurs.
Liverpool are chasing the title.

I presume Liverpool win in that scenario. Both teams would be on 77 but Liverpool have a better goal difference so they’d get the Champions League spot.
Oh dear.
Bloody hell!!
Dave Lee Travis - retrial - it is starting to look like Salem in the UK.
Seems wrong that he has been acquitted and has been financially ruined by having to fund all his legal costs. At the very least if acquitted he should be paid his defence costs. Innocent until proven guilty etc.
Irish regime seems fairer in that you can be granted legal aid if charges are serious. Otherwise it is a complete imbalance in the system as prosecution is funded by the State and has no financial restrictions.

No need to go lashing out, mate. ‘One man, one ball’ is actually my favourite GAA mantra.

I was just making a joke (Airplane reference) as opposed to joining in ye’re stupid argument which I couldn’t give a shit about, pal.
@glasagusban has been taking a few hammerings on various threads recently and I’m concerned for the wellbeing of my fellow townie.
It may be time for a period of reflection.
