Who is Tom Magner?
Coming home to the smell of freshly baked brown bread…mmmmmm
Young fella finished hurling training Tuesday evening about 630. Parked all DIY shit I’m neck deep in, loaded up the car, dogs and all, and headed West, hitting the mother’s for about 10.
Gave kids day off school today. Instead, had a lie in at the mother’s. Woke about 830 and walked with the dogs and daughter to grab a coffee up cratloe hill.
Back to the mother’s for about 10, big stonking fry awaiting us. With that safely bellied, back in the car and all hit kilkee. Diving boards by noon, Pollock holes by 1.
Back in the car, head to Lahinch, firstly, for lunch and then surfing for an hour. Water and waves majestic. A beer before leaving, was back in limerick for 6 to see twin Nieces (6) camogie training before 2 swift pints in local and then cooking bbq in the mother’s.
Be a long enough winter, may as well squeeze what last bit of juice can be got from the summer yet.
An awful lot to be thankful for.
If you take the Limerick bit out, that’s a fine day
Savage. Covid left one positive - no biggy if you take the kids out of school to enjoy life
Never understood it, you take a kid out of school in 3rd class for a week and people say they’ll fall behind .
As if it wasn’t enough getting daily reminders of how great the weather is! Spent the full two months from mid June to mid August in Ireland and you couldn’t walk to the shop and back without getting drenched let alone go to the beach. EVERY FUCKING DAY. We get back and immediately deluged with videos and pictures (Limericks obviously) of daily spectacular weather. Enjoy it you absolute cunts.
A busy day lad,but I’m sure the lads enjoyed it.
A game like Wales Vs Fiji. Some random group game where you’re not really invested, but which is of critical importance to the participants, like an Olympic long jump final or something, and it slowly grips you, and you enjoy every twist and turn. You get games like it in the soccer WC, but rarely in rugby.
Life affirming in some bizarre way, when you need it.
It sort of what makes sport good for me nowadays.
As somebody who loves loads of sports I’m losing interest in a lot of it now.
Soccer has even been destroyed. You could probably name 7 of the 8 champions league finalists and it’s September.
The gaa still has its moments but becoming increasingly professional. The little man doesn’t really stand a chance anymore.
Rugby is arguably ruined forever.
Horse racing is ruined.
I loved watching Tom Brady and I reckon I’ll lose a little interest now.
I found the tennis a good watch now. Just two players going hammer and tongs at it. I might be ignorant but it just feels like both players are on a level playing field and it’s Simply a case of who’s better. There is no financial angle to the whole thing.
Shop local. Club championship hurling and football and even camogie. Even local soccer where lads are invested in their team. It’s pure and honest.
Short enough burst of it all the same.
Sure but what’s seldom is wonderful.
Horrible cunt of a human
Champions league is a pale husk of the competition it was. The EPL dominance has certainly contributed. Football is broken when the likes of AC Milan are struggling to hold on to players from Brighton or Brentford.
What EPL dominance?
The financial dominance they have.
