Interesting.
It’s something you wouldn’t be thinking of.
Heightened my awareness.
Probably a faulty charger for a battery pack for a drill is the thinking.
That’s bad luck, or I suppose it’s good luck it only took the shed
Good luck it was a calm night too
My bet is on an oily rag
Can they self combust?
Indeed they can
Unlikely he had an Opel Zafira parked there - or one of those combustible televisions…
That would have been brilliant without the Coldplay style muzak
The amateur drama scene in Ireland remains one of our great gems. We had a smashing festival of it finish up here last night with troupes from all over putting on outstanding shows. Glenamaddy ended up taking the big prizes, but there were productions from Claremorris, Wicklow and across Ulster as well over the past 3 weeks. Great people involved, massive commitment and yet it’s almost entirely done in a quiet, unassuming way.
I did a bit as a younger man, I was said to compare to a young Tobey Maguire with a flat uninspiring accent
They host a fabulous festival annually for many a year now. Beautiful little theatre there.
The finest of country people so I’m sure whatever they have would be of good order. Ollie Turner with the Claremorris outfit was one of the best actors on show, famous for the odd radio clip of heroic Galway wins.
Yes a fine performer. Cut his teeth with DADS.
What was their production this year?
That All Ireland circuit is Premier division stuff.
How was Tinahely? I have a soft spot for that viilage
One of the 2 shows I didn’t make it to. It got a few nominations on awards night and, as @anon42928009 rightly stated, it is all senior hurling on that circuit.
I cannot recall the name of the play but I saw Corofin of Clare do a play in Glenamaddy one time in black and white. Stage design, lighting and makeup was incredible. We went to see it as we were looking for ideas on what we might do and also there was a neighbour’s child performing. If I remember correctly she got best actress.
