Things to do in Waterford

I saw that. The aristocracy are some crowd of greedy cunts. We should have completed the job properly in 1921.

Got a lovely burger there at lunchtime in ‘The Local’ in Dungarvan.

You’d be concerned that the Colin Dunford burger would be a touch on the small side.

The Austin Gleeson one could be fatty enough.

John Mullane burger made of horse meat.

Waterford is probably the most pedestrian friendly city in the country

Probably because its not a City.

Waterford was granted city status by royal charter in 1202 mate

It was.

Its still a town.

I’ll most like have a day / afternoon to stroll around Waterford in the coming weeks. Only previous visits were to the RSC.

Any recommendations for things to see, pubs to visit and places to eat?
Downes seems to be the pub to try?

Don’t think Downes’s opens until 5. Geoffs would be a grand spot to have a bite to eat and a pint. The Granville does a savage roaster carvery. Bun Cha is a nice Vietnamese in the centre of town. Momos is a bit more upmarket. Cafe Goa is a good Indian.
Visit Reginald’s Tower. All the museums are together in the Viking Quarter

Any attraction worth passing an hour in?

Edit: see your follow up now.

Are you sure it’s Reginalds Tower and not just the Waterford Tower?

I’m sure of it. We had a terrible habit of doffing our caps to our Viking overlords. Reginald’s tower and the Museum of Treasures would be grand for an hour I think. Also in that area is Christchurch Cathedral - worth sticking your head in to see how the Protestants celebrate WW1.

A cousin of mine does historical walking tours there from the Granville. They take about 90 mins. I’d be biased but found it very good

Do the medieval museum if you get a chance. You’ll easily get an hour from that.
I would take a lot longer if you had the time.

Waterford are great to put plaques on the sides of houses etc, grand city for a stroll

Jack Burtchaell?

Thats him

Supposed to be an excellent tour. Know a few people who’ve done the tour with him.

Yeah. He knows his stuff and is a really good storyteller. Was actually born in Limerick @TreatyStones . I think @habanerocat would know him too.
