I like Galway. Lived there a few times and spent every summer there for about 10 years in my childhood. Also go there for work for a few days every year. But itâs pricey and is up itâs own hole a bit these days.
This is what I think as a neutral observer. Itâs brutal dear and hadnât many hotels youâd actually stay in. I love the place utterly, but Iâm from there, and I have plenty to do. Ours are happy once they go to blackrock every day, but if the weather is bad, Iâd not want to be stuck in a city centre hotel with the family.
Did a rinky dink on it by having the area designated as a Strategic Development area. That way it goes straight to the Bord and doesnât see a county council.
You surely have this one in the bag. Minister Mary Butler, not a wet day in a position of authority, pulls the rabbit out of the hat. All those wasted years of Halligan promising God knows what, John Deasy at war with allcomers, the carroty topped FG lad whoâs name escapes me and countless other anonymous useless flutes. Mary will surely bring in a running mate next time out.
Incredible scenes, dâArabs will reciprocate by establishing a Blaa factory in the desert.
What do you think of the whole thing @Fagan_ODowd? Iâd be very skeptical to be honest. I donât really think itâs the answer for Waterford, it will destroy business on the high streets which is already on its knees. Iâd much rather see the city council invest in developing and stimulating the city centre.
