Disagree. They basically spent an hour working through the awful things that are happening, suffused with the dread of the even worse things to come, before giving a ray of hope through showing the potential of the Breaker of Chains to unite all people under the awesome power of her dragons. I thought it worked really well.
Just watched the final two episodes. I’ve read the books, but last weeks… Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittt!!!
This weeks, a bit boring really, didn’t quite set it up as well as last seasons ending.
I don’t know how well the next season or two are going to go. The books become more fragmented and the last two were criticised heavily for not moving on the plot very much, lots of tying up of small conflicts without moving on the main arc very much, huge drawback for the series. Those last two episodes have really made me want a peek at the next book now, if the fucker will ever hurry up and finish writing it!
On the series, I think their character development has been really excellent, bits they’ve introduced that weren’t in the books have added a lot. Tywin and Varys tonight especially.
Agreed. I dont see the disappointment with this weeks episode, it was never going to be the jaw dropper of E09, but did tie up the series and signposted where the rest is to go in the future. I hope the Series takes a firmer hold with the series than the books from here on, I gave up after the next one.

Dropped a major bomb this week when someone said armies can’t stop the white walkers and Sam asked the kid “but you can?” That hasn’t really been hinted in the books I don’t think. I’d prefer to see the kid wreak bloody vengeance all over the Lannisters but that might be Arya’s job yet, I’ve a feeling she’s going to be awesome.
Anyone who’s read the books will note that there was something major omitted last night and things that happened after that event were shown last night without that happening.

I think Davos Seaworth is turning into my favourite character in it[/quote]
Same here, but so much of this is down to Cunningham I think, I didnt find him half as likable in the book personally, but he’s been a great character in the show.
Aidan Gillen is another fantastic actor, looking forward to seeing how his proposed wedding turns out. I’ll have all the books finished within a couple of months. I’m addicted to them.

Littlefinger was sadly missed last night.
Himself and Varys are great when bouncing off each other.

+1 Cunningham
Again, I wonder will we see more departure from the books over the next series or two as the next couple books just aren’t as strong. Want the get to the next one now, promises to be a doozy!!!
