Have they moved away from the Divisional system to a new style championship in Tipp?

Some fairly one-sided games there. Wouldn’t have thought Moneygall would be up to senior standard.

There is a kind of Senior A and Senior B type championship this year. The divisions are still there too though in a separate competition. There’s 32 “senior” clubs in Tipp so you’d want to be fairly shite not to be senior standard. The Moneygall trimming is explained by the fact that Sars did shite last year and ended up in the B part for this year. Teams in the B can still win the county championship but not entirely sure how that works

Roinn 1
Group 1 Nenagh Eire Og,Clonoulty, Roscrea, Templederry
Group 2 Kildangan,Killenaule,Carrick Swans,Upperchurch
Group 3 Loughmore,Eire Og Annacarty, Toomevara, Moycarkey
Group 4 Borrisoleigh,Drom-Inch,Silvermines, Burgess

Roinn 2
Group 1 Carrick Davins, Lorrha, Knockavilla, JK Brackens
Group 2 Cashel, Boherlahan, Holycross, Kilruane
Group 3 Borrisokane, Ballina, Mullinahone, Ballinagarry
Group 4 Moneygall, Thurles Sarsfields, Cappawhite, Portroe

Top 2 teams from each group in Roinn 1, winner of each group in Roinn 2 plus 4 divisional winners go into the last 16 of the championship.

Between the Divisional Championships and the Co Championship, the clubs should get plenty of games anyway.

Are the divisional championships for teams outside of the top 32 only or do all teams take part in them?

If all take part, is there the potential for a bit of a clusterfuck in the last 16 if a team both qualified from a group and won their division for example?

Equally, if they are for lower-tier teams would you not have some fairly weak sides in the last 16?

EDIT - Just saw @kerry1891’s post asking the same question.

No the divisional championships are just for senior clubs.

So, for example, if Loughmore and Moycarkey, who are both Mid-Tipp if I’m correct, finished first and second in Group 3 and contested the divisional final, what would happen?

All 32 teams will compete in their Divisional Championships.
If a club wins their Division and qualifies through their group then the next placed team in the group goes through.

It’s not perfect by any means but you have the likes of Thurles Sarsfields, Holycross, Kilruane and Mullinahone in Roinn B who would be better than some of the teams in Roinn A.

The ultimate aim is to reduce the number of senior clubs and increase the quality of the championship.

The 3rd placed team in the group would go through to the last 16.

Don’t think Mullinahone would be better than many teams in the A part. They’ll probably top their group alright but Ballingarry and Ballina wouldn’t be too far off them in their group I’d say

You’re probably right.
