What is the semi final draw?
Would have a link with borrisoleigh
6 points from play from one of the drom wing backs
Tomorrow evening
Johnny Ryan. Smashing player but deemed too small for inter county.
Johnny Ryan is unreal. In a different era he’d be an absolute superstar
Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Semi-final draw: Thurles Sarsfields v Eire Og Annacarty; Borris-Ileigh v Drom & Inch
He played a bit of league five or six years ago. Must be pushing the 30 by now
I’d say.
Is his nickname Springer or something like that?
He’d be the same age as Callanan I’d say so 30 next year. Jaysus it only feels like yesterday those great underage teams in 06 and 07 were coming through. Think that’s his nickname alright
I’m amazed at that, Drom & Sars kept apart. ( not )
Borrisoleigh v Drom will be epic.
@TreatyStones will have a grand day out.
I don’t bet but Borris have a look of a team
Who might get Dan Breen this year. They could catch Sars on the hop in final
“At next County Board meeting, the following hurling managers will be confirmed: Tommy Dunne - U17; Liam Cahill - U21; Michael Ryan - Senior”
I’d nearly travel to Borris v Drom. They’ll have to reopen the Ragg that night and let the supporters at it.
Going to be a savage clash. I think most neutrals in the county - and no disrespect to Thurles - would have loved that as a final pairing.
Fuck Thurles
Busy weekend of action ahead.
Following the results of last weekend we are heading into the semi-final shakedown in the Tipperary Water County Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday next, September 24th, with another double header in Semple Stadium from 3.30pm. With the draw made at Monday night’s CCCC meeting the semi-final landscape looks like this, first up its Drom & Inch v Borris-Ileigh followed at 5pm by Thurles Sarsfields v Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill.
The Tipperary Water Seamus Ó Riain Cup semi-finals will also take place this weekend where it will be North v Mid in both matches. On this Saturday, September 23rd, in the Ragg at 4pm Toomevara meet JK Brackens while on Sunday, September 24th, Roscrea take on Holycross-Ballycahill in Borrisoleigh at 12pm. Extra time in both games if required.
Also, in the Seamus Ó Riain, round 2 of the relegation play off saw Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams overcome Borrisokane 3-16 to 2-07 on Saturday, while on Sunday last Moycarkey-Borris defeated Ballingarry 1-22 to 0-11. There’s a lot still to play for to see who will stay up as the teams head into round 3 which will take place on the weekend of October 1st. In those games it will be Moycarkey-Borris v Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams and Ballingarry v Borrisokane.
In the one outstanding Tipperary Water Intermediate Hurling Championship preliminary quarter final St. Marys had a comfortable 4-13 to 0-09 win over Moyle Rovers to set up a quarter final clash with Kilsheelan-Kilcash. St. Mary’s kept their form going showing no ill effects of a quick turnaround by securing safe passage to the semi-final with a 1-15 to 0-14 victory.
In the other Tipperary Water Intermediate Hurling Quarter Finals Cappawhite had two to spare in a 1-12 to 0-13 win against Sean Treacys on Saturday. It was something of a similar result in the fixture between Gortnahoe-Glengoole and Ballinahinch with Gortnahoe also having two to spare to progress to the semi-finals after a 1-15 to 0-16 win.
In quick succession to the above, the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Hurling Semi-Finals will also be played this weekend with both games down for decision at 12pm on next Sunday, September 24th. In Boherlahan, St. Mary’s play Moyne-Templetuohy or Moneygall while in Leahy Park, Cashel, Gortnahoe-Glengoole meet Cappawhite, extra time to be played if necessary in both games.
Next to round 2 in the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Hurling Relegation play off where Galtee Rovers-St. Pecaun secured their status with a goal to spare over Lattin Cullen Gaels, 1-12 to 0-12 was the final result here. Round 3 between Lattin-Cullen Gaels and Boherlahan-Dualla is the deciding fixture here with the winner safe and the loser doomed to relegation. A draw will suffice for Boherlahan-Dualla so Lattin-Cullen Gaels know a win will be needed to stay up, a fascinating tie is in prospect.
The first of the Tipperary Water County Junior ‘A’ Quarter-Finals took place last Saturday with Ballybacon-Grange edging out Holycross-Ballycahill 3-11 to 0-17 in New Inn. Down the road in Cahir, Moycarkey-Borris progressed to the last four following a 0-13 to 0-10 win over Skeheenarinky. The remaining quarter-finals will take place this weekend with Clonoulty-Rossmore meeting Knockshegowna in Dolla on September 23rd next at 3.30pm while on Sunday the 24th, Toomevara take on Rockwell Rovers in Drombane at 12pm, again extra time to be played if required.
With all the games played over the weekend, one final took place among them which was the Tipperary Water County Hurling League Division 3 final. In this congratulations go to Silvermines following their victory over Newport 0-25 to 1-13.
Switching attention to football, this Wednesday night September 20th, in the Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship preliminary quarter-final, Arravale Rovers play Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill in Clonoulty at 8pm.
That game sets the scene as the focus turns towards the quarter-finals proper with 3 games set for action this Saturday, September 23rd, all throwing in at 4pm. In New Inn, Killenaule meet Aherlow Gaels, defending champions Loughmore-Castleiney take on Kilsheelan-Kilcash in Golden, while last year’s losing county finalists Moyle Rovers play Ballyporeen in Cahir. The remaining fixture is set for next Wednesday night September 27th in Ballyporeen where Clonmel Commercials will take on either Arravale Rovers or Éire Óg Annacarty-Donohill. Extra time if necessary in all quarter finals.
