That game was the undoing of Tipperary and handed Munster to Clare. Weren’t a couple of Tipp lads suspended for the Limerick match and Limerick just overcame them in the semi final.
An eye injury curtailed him.
He gave Anthony Daly an awful roasting in 93 I believe.
Lk bate them by a point iirc in semi . A Tipp acquaintance always reckons to me that the 1995 & 1996 defeats cost them 2 all Irelands . He is probably right.

Yes he transferred to Ballygunner when they were in acquisition mode.

Got a very bad injury vs Limerick in 95. Lucky not to lose an eye. Won an All Ireland junior football final in 98.

That was a fair decent set of 6 backs that Waterford had there. None of them though at their peak.
They were both suspended. I think one of them was very harshly suspended. The other one deserved it. I can’t remember who was who though.
Damien Byrne was a crowd favourite but he was a poor full back. He was a great man to bust out with the ball and hit a Hail Mary clearance and completely forget that he had left a full forward in behind him.
Didn’t Peter Quelly get in bother which delayed his passing out with the cops after that game
