They’ll get through this year at least. These things are usually subject to written agreement so the sponsorship should last for whatever the current duration is.
Given the shady nature of payment to management teams I would imagine there’s very little documentary evidence for half the expenditure.
Most counties would be cute enough about that tbf. Management would never be paid out of the sponsor’s money. It would go on gear, training expenses, travel etc.
Of course, there have been scenarios whereby managements are reimbursed directly by the sponsor and the money never passes through the board’s hands at all.
The Tipp situation is a bit odd in that the Senior Hurling manager is an employee of the sponsor also.
