Tipperary GAA 2022

Mate youā€™re complaining about the split season not allowing for replays all year and now youā€™re giving out about no extra time today.

Missed the game. Was at a kidā€™s birthday party in the backarse of nowhere, with shit mobile reception, so was relying on a few updates from home. Jerome would make most county teams in the country. Heā€™d even trouble the mighty Limerick team I would think. Has all the attributes youā€™d want in a county man. But I think his decision has been made, and we will just have to respect that.

Whatā€™s the story there? It canā€™t be a Sunday thing as he played today?

Sure he was on the senior panel in 19 (and maybe 20 also).

From what I heard, it was the overall commitment time was an issue, as well as specific days for training. Donā€™t know much about JWs, but someone mentioned before that there were clashes with their midweek worship day?

Cant train Tuesdays i think.

Heā€™s also an Accountant so thatā€™s probably part of it.

The Tuesdays. Thatā€™s what I heard before.

If itā€™s purely commitment, fair enough, but youā€™d think you could make it work if he couldnā€™t train Tuesdays.

He looks good enough for the level.

One of the highlights of the day for me was when the Kilruane physio was patching up Jerome Cahill after a blood injury in the first half, who waddled 30 yards down the sideline to make sure she was doing it right only the bould Big Rob Ryan in a lovely, crisp navy shirt.

Does he have an older bother, that played underage for Tipp? Justin? Is he still hurling?

He has lost weight

Yes Justin was an excellent player who started for Tipp 21s in 2012 and 2013 but hasnā€™t played for Kilruane in a few years.

They have an even older brother Johnny who was a star Underage player but never played much beyond Under 21. Heā€™d be about 33 now.

Any relation to Dinny? Former Antrim manager

You could be right.

I thought Rob was on that journey from being hated, to being respected to being loved, but heā€™s still very much hated from talking to a few stewards today after he kicked Ballina off the pitch straight after they won the Inter Football last week.

Think heā€™s a nephew.

Kieran Cahill the number 4 today would be a cousin again i think.

It was great to see a passionate Eamon Oā€™Shea pucking every ball for Kilruane in the stand today.

Do Roscrea go forward to the provincial intermediate championship or what is the story there?

Yes they do.

Playing Waterford champs

Bit of controversy surrounding Kilruaneā€™s bid to have Darragh Peterā€™s ruled eligible to play for yesterdayā€™s game.

He transferred to a New York Club and in theory shouldnā€™t be allowed play in Ireland again until next year, but Decky McGrath made a mess of his transfer form to New York for the summer and in theory should have been in the same position. Kildangan pulled a stroke though and heā€™s been back with them for the last number of games.

I understand there has to be rules and regulations but heā€™s a Kilruane born and bred player and when you see Shane Walsh lining out for Kilmacud, there should be no issue with him being allowed play for his own club in a county final.

Heā€™d be a big addition.

If you dug deep enough, I can guarantee you every single club is illegal in some way. They probably coulda played him, looked the opposition and County Board in the eye, and dared them to object.

Iā€™d agree. I know my own club played a Divisional Final a few years ago and the opposition had a player playing who was said to be 100% illegal because of a similar transfer to some American Club for the summer. We didnā€™t object and it was the right thing to do.

Poaching players is different but a player should always be allowed play for his own club no matter what if heā€™s officially affiliated to some team in Dubai/Oz/USA or wherever.
