Tipperary GAA 2022

I would say so

6 of that Limerick hurling team played senior at some stage, not a bad return.

One senior footballer on the bench too

Alan Horgan of Knockavilla a brother of Fergal?

Cousin I think….

3 of those Limerick players still playing first team club hurling as of 2021. Paudie McCarthy was unreal in the county final for Kieran’s last year.

And Eoin Foley still lording it at Junior B level.

Alan is a brother of Brian Horgan who trained Cuala and a host of other clubs in recent times.

He’s one of Fergal’s umpires.

I see Alan Kilcoyne listed as Ballinacurra Gaels in the Limerick subs. Would have mainly hurled with Old Christians, as did his younger brother David before he turned his attention to rugby.

There’s so many of them……

I think that game ended as a draw, Limerick were well ahead before Eoin Kelly put on yet another masterclass and fired in a couple of goals. A late Limerick score salvaged a draw before they won the replay IIRC.

The Limerick camogie manager playing midfield for Tipp.

Alan O’Connor & Brian Quirke were both on the football that year as well I think. Although I could be a year out.

I was down in Brian McGraths corner in the first half on Sunday. As slow an inter county corner back as I’ve seen.

Jesus he must have been if he couldnt clean you out.

I’d have fancied my chances of beating him in a sprint.

He’s the slowest of the McGrath brothers and that’s saying something. Plenty of hurling in him but can’t see him at 4 for championship

Was at that game and the replay. Limerick better both days. Tipp got 5 seniors off it. The starting full back line as well as Kelly and Johnno in the forwards. A good few others flirted with panels.
