And a couple of excellent club hurlers.
Good few of those lads ended up in Oz.
Paudie Dwyer was hurling Intermediate with Kilmallock up until last year. Is Niall Moran still going for Ahane? Davy Clancy still going with Granagh Ballingarry @dodgy_keeper isnāt he?
Alan Kilcoyne is a brother of Dave Kilcoyne āthe Rubby playerā
Shaughs must have been only barely 16 years of age ffs?
Himself and Eoin Kelly on the one pitch at Minor level, 2 of the greatest underage prodigys the game had ever seen. Both absolutely fucking lethal at the time too.
Thereās a few lads on the Limerick panel there and I canāt make out how they made a Minor Panel.
I also have a suspicion a prominent poster may be named on the Limerick panel but perhaps Iām incorrect
I āhurledā with Michael McKenna out there.
AN Other was standing on the bank watching this on the first day and lined out midfield for Tipp in the replay. It wouldnāt happen now.
Kennedy from Toome?
Think Tipp had a fair few changes for replay
Tony Doyle being one.
Was Big Eoin Brislane overage?
He was. Iād imagine he lined out in the minor AI final the previous Sept vs Galway
A fierce head the ball. I remember watching the Tipp county final in 2008 vs Thurles Sarsfields.
Sars were the coming force whereas Toome were coming towards the end of their era. A young Paidi Maher was marking Brislane; early on under a high dropping ball, Brislane opened the shoulders and pulled straight across the puss of Maher. Got away with it and went on to bag 1-4, man of the match and another county medal. I would define him as an iconic sort cc @peddlerscross
He also saw the red rag against Limerick in the Minster Under 21 final in 2002 I think, after coming on as a sub.
He was filthy. One to get his retaliation first alright. He picked up red cards at an awful
rate. His reputation preceded him. When he was just hurling he could damage alright but was a liability.
That 2008 Final was something. The famous Toome roars last dance. Johnny Enright gave the greatest exhibition of freetakiing Iāve ever seen for Thurles.
Brislane went absolutely mental after Adare knocked Toome out of Munster a few weeks later.
Outgoing CKC bainisteoir
Tipp were on top top at the time.
Noel Sheedy was livid
Has Andy Moloney gone in with Big Timmy in Cashel?
Correct
God bless Andy
I didnāt hear. Andy would be good but there is a fair bit of managing there.
Brislane is coaching Monaleen this year apparently. Still a bit of a lunatic by all accounts.
