Tipperary GAA 2022

Who was Willie Maher’s coach at minor level?

I think it was John Devane?

Devane was over the 20s in his own right after Cahill?

Brian Horgan

You’re right. Sorry @Aristotle .

Devane was on Maher’s 21 ticket

An uncle Tom if there ever was one.

Probably got the new Fiserv team jumper with KH on it from Bonnar.

The politics of Tipp Hurling and Tipp FM are absolutely box office.

Ken Hogan with the son involved makes things very interesting. When Brian isnt starting, he likes to hone in on our puckout strategy. When Brian is starting he likes to talk about other stuff.

Tom McGrath then with the Loughmore angle, questioning why John hasnt seen more gametime lately.

Mick Ryan talking like a banker then going on about debit and credit accounts and depositing goals and points.

Any sign of Babs? He’ll stick up for Bonnar I’d wager.

I haven’t listened to it but I presume there’s a bit of discontent there. Whike I can understand the discomfort, I dont see the need for panick. I would have thought most Tipp following wouldn’t have had huge expectations for this year. It was always going to be a transitional year. The change of grade from u20 to u21 also didn’t help Tipps cause. The trick is to keep young lads motivated now. It csn be hard given the commitment thats involved these days for a young lad to stay focused after taking a few heavy beatings. That being said, I don’t think a 4 and 8 point defeat is too bad considering.

No Babs hasnt been on Tipp FM since Billy O’Shea got involved there.

Blaming Bonnar is pointless anyway. Hes doing his best in an impossible position.

A text from my cousin yesterday stating that Tipperary hurling is too much of an old boys club with too many snouts in the trough. Hogan and Tommy Dunne two names mentioned. If you haven’t worn the jersey don’t bother looking for a role either

What Tipp need to do is go back training really hard really early next year. Get a step ahead of other counties.

Target the League and get a few wins under the belt. Build a bit of confidence.

Losing to Kerry in the Waterford Crystal and failing to beat Dublin/taking a hiding off Waterford in the league just sucked the life out of the season.

Ah ya but shur every successful county is probably a little like that.

The quality of the players is the problem. Brendan/Paudie Maher used to be able to break tackles and hit 40/50m stick passes to Bubbles/Callanan who were able to catch/control it.

Nowadays the incumbents either run into 5 big lads and drop the ball or hit low scuttery/high loopy passes which are dropped or miscontrolled.

Sure Tommy Dunne is there 10 years and Tipp haven’t had any sort of gameplan since EOS was involved yet is regularly lauded as a great coach. That was fine when hurling was still largely a man on man game and Tipp had brilliant players but it isn’t anymore

Tommy Dunne dug Bonnar out of a hole.

Tommy Dunne is not a trough merchant.

I wouldn’t take too much notice of losing to Kerry in fairness. For some reason or other Limerick seem to like that Munster league. I dont think Bonner wanted to expose them to Limerick so early on

The munster league is perfect for Limerick. A few early season half-competitive challenge games to limber up before training hard through the league while rotating the starters, and then ready to roll for championship.
