The problem was Kilruane made the 2010 Co. Under 21 Final against Sars and it was held up for months because Sars made the Munster Club Final and then Tipp went on a team holiday.

Hennessy’s knee wasnt right but he vowed come hell or high water he’d play.

Its probably one of the most storied Underage Club games ever played with Kilruane edging a Padraic Maher inspired Thurles in Dolla but it came at a cost. The surgeons opened his knee up a few weeks later and it was in shit.

I have asked a dozen or so lads from Tipp and no one has been able to tell me what the actual injury is or was. Was he actually injured? Was it ‘sunstroke’ ?

Knee cartilage.

Bone rubbing against bone I’m fairly sure.

Having seen Ballybacon this year and Ballinahinch last year I’m not sure how they won that

Clonoulty 8-5 up at HT but down to fourteen men.

Upperchurch scored last 8 points to beat Bracken’s by 3

2 North and 2 Mid teams in the semis.

Kiladangan v Drom & Inch
Upperchurch Drombane v Kilruane MacDonaghs

Tasty.

What stage had Clonoulty a man sent off today?

I really think if Morgan wasn’t injured, it would be Kilruane’s year.

Halfway through first half I think.

Roscrea v Burgess
Gortnahie v St Marys

Went in to see the Clonoulty match today.

Its a game they’ll have regrets about. Started well and were out working and out hurling Kildangan. The sending off and Jack Ryan being forced off with injury at HT completely changed the game.

The Clonoulty backs probably gave as good a defensive display as you’ll ever see. John O’Keefe and Heffernan x2 were unreal. Kildangan’s much vaunted forward line were completely shut down. Clonoulty were short at the other end and between Barry Hogan, James Quigley, Alan Flynn and David Sweeney Kildangan were comfortable after the first 20 mins. A real game of backs.

An interesting incident occurred midway through the second half with the game in the melting pot. Sean Hayes of Kildangan who’d be regarded as a serious prospect and one to be called up to the Tipp Seniors was taken off by Coach Egan cc @Bandage. The two (Hayes and Coach Egan) seemed to have very, very strong words and almost came to blows on the sideline. In an effort to maybe diffuse the situation Coach Egan reintroduced Hayes about 8 minutes later. Not sure what Liam Cahill would have made of it.

If Drom do it this year it’ll sure be one of the best titles ever won, given they will have beaten 4 of the past 5 champions to do so

Winner likely to come from Drom v Kiladangan.

The church will never get a better opportunity to win it.

Especially from where they’ve come from too.

This time last year they narrowly avoided a relegation battle on score difference.

They obviously went and put the heads down over the winter (they went and won the Inter Football after the hurling finished last year) as they have been a side transformed. They won the league, probably should have won the mid and now on the cusp of a County Final.

On today’s showing i fancy Drom to take out Kildangan. Kildangan not flowing at all up front.
