John O’Donoghue in hurling
How long ago would that be?
There was a Dalton chap who was seen as the next big thing but he never kicked on. Think he may have played football for tipp
Is he the most recent? By God. I was in his house before. Met the Babs there
John O’Donoghue played from '64 until '70 when he was controversially taken off (JOD was the goalie) in the Munster Final.
Dalton was the truth but tore his cruciate at 19.
Another Stevie O’Donnell exclusive
John O Donoghoe was GK and sub GK on teams of the 60s and 70s. Has a few AI medals.
Timmy Dalton was a prodigious talent. Scored something like 1-5 in 06 final. A even better footballer. He fell in with a bad crowd. Got injured, put on serious timber, gambling issues and then did a big interview a few years back with Stevie O Donnell about it.
I’m led to believe O’Mara is unlikely to start. Big blow for Tipp if that is the case.
I wouldnt say a wrong crowd. He’d be great friends with Joe Canning from LIT.
Coaching Nenagh Eire Og now with Johnny Kelly. Living up there and well regarded.
He’s fine.
Brian McGrath….
I don’t think he’s got the physicality tbh, hope I’m wrong.
Clare will target him
We’re badly stuck for corner backs. Morgan is a big loss.
Huge loss. Barry Heffernan another loss potentially from back 6
Is Ger Browne injured or gone from the panel?
Injured. Out for season. No loss in my opinion.
Out for season.
His brother Paddy was a serious yoke as well. Tigerish enough corner back on Tipp underage teams. Played in a munster final against Cork alongside my brother.
Paddy tore his cruciate at 19 too in the McGrath Cup marking Kieran Donaghy no less.
He was injured for Arravale’s epic Under 21 A Football win over Noel McGrath and co of Loughmore on a balmy spring evening in 2011. Arravale, Loughmore, Moyle Rovers and Commercials had some fantastic games at that grade between 2008-2015.
Paddy was a good yoke but Timmy was a step up in class.
Timmy’s dummy solo was something else.
