Tipperary GAA 2023

In other news, we’re staying up and the minors won the minor b county.

Sars full value for their win but their forward line lacks real pace that will stop them from doing much outside of Tipp. Loughmore’s full back line won the sprint to most balls. Sars not as impressive as the Drom game but they wont care. Conditions werent great at all and hurling under lights can be funny.

Loughmore may well be at the end of the road for their golden generation.

Think Thurles started with six (6) LHOT players last night and every one of them more wristy than each other.

A lovely hat tip to their manager and the great Jimmy Doyle. You just can’t beat tradition.

And numbers.

Its a very high percentage LHOT whatever way you look at it. All those lads grew up watching fellow LHOT players Lar Corbett/Padraic Maher/Redser O’Grady/Johnny Enright winning county finals for Sars a decade ago.

They also had Richie Ruth back then another sweet LHOT. It all goes back to Jimmy Doyle I’d imagine.

Their current Prem Inter Team is also full of Lefties.

There’s definitely a piece in this for @Malarkey before the County Final.

Big Dara Egan rolling back the years according to Tipp FM. Came on for the sent off Barry Hogan (two yellows). Landed a free from downtown and made a spectacular diving save to stop a goal.

Rare that a goalie gets sent off even on two yellows. What did he do?

Had it on radio in car streaming. He hit young Darragh McCarthy an overagressive shoulder (perhaps a dunt even) in first half. The commentary was buffering for the second yellow.

Billy Seymour and Sean Hayes seemed to go well again. Hayes was very good minor but has seemed to have given the aura of a fella who couldn’t give a flying fuck since. Would that be an accurate assessment @peddlerscross ?

I’m not sure I’d really trust a Kiladangan player anyway.

He seems to blow hot and cold but has generally underperformed in county finals for one reason or another. Has speed, size and skill but probably lacks substance at county level.

Seymour has returned to his best form and will also in you would imagine.

Paul Flynn worth his place on the panel but that boat may have sailed.

My father has it in for the Flynns for some reason. He said a few years ago if they’re still making Tipp panels, then we’re fucked.

They were/are definitely worth their place on the panel but Paul infuriated Tipp supporters with stupid shot selection. Alan was a decent utility player without nailing a place.

Kiladangan are still new money in the north Tipp GAA and some of the antics on the sideline has definitely not helped.

Hayes was excellent for the Tipp Minors in 2018 and for Kildangan in 2019 and 2020.

Since then he’s failed to fire.

Billy Seymour went horribly out of form last year but seems to be leading the line well for them this year. Lacks a gear that Hayes has for Inter County.

Should be a really good final. Dont think anyone can argue the best two teams are there.

Commercials edge out Moyle Rovers by 3.

Lorrha giving Cashel are a fair trimming in the Premier Intermediate Semi Final.

.

Willie Connors off the bench and from downtown to level up county final.

Match goes to replay

A very good county final once again. Probably the highest standard in recent years but not the most exciting.

The fourth draw in normal time in a row and third replay which is always a boost to the county board coffers.

A draw probably the fair result but Sars will rue overplaying the ball in the full forward line a couple of times in the final 10 minutes. Paddy Creedon should have had 3 points but attempted to force the goal that wasn’t on.

Darragh Stakelum, Sean Hayes and Billy Seymour probably rubber stamped their places on Tipp extended squad for the winter.

Both these teams will give Ballygunnar plenty of it in a Munster club final.

The Uncle attended; he said the 15 euro charge for OAPs left a sour taste

What was the main cost? €20 or €25?

Tipperary must have the highest ticket prices around. It’s stopping people going to games.

The boys at the top don’t care.

They’ve also a mad attitude to spending on the senior hurling team.

No expense spared. It doesn’t grow on trees like.

Cork final was 25 I believe. Too dear.
