Who is the Northern lad training Clonoulty?
Sounds a brilliant club. I wish it was near me.
The club back home has a new third team this year in that category. Mainly lads that were the backbone of our intermediate/senior team for past 20+ years (many of them would be in early to mid 40s now and balls deep in administration and/or coaching with the club) and a few other odd sorts from around the parish who couldnāt get a game in their prime but always maintained their fitness. This social hurling thing sounds great.
As you well know this is the way it used to be back in the good ol days. Play a game of a weekend, go for pints. I actually remember the first time we did a warm up before a game. Lads were stunned.

āThe natural Hurlingā
Fucking hell
The Two Johnnies are gonna be some craic
Does Ronan surpass Padraig in the Tipp pantheon after today?
He certainly stands higher given he didnāt make a show of himself in an All Ireland quarter final like Pawdee did
A rare mis-step for @Fat_Pox although perhaps you could argue it wasnāt āthis generationā that won it, it was a mix of this generation and the new one.
None of us saw this coming. If you told me at the start of the year we were winning an All Ireland, Iād have laughed at you.
We were on the floor 14 months ago. And now the county has three All Irelands won in the last 13 months across the different levels.
Huge credit to Cahill. I questioned him as did many others. Goes to show what the hurlers on the ditch know. People around me yesterday wanted Stakelum, Sam and Ormond hooked at HT. Those three were instrumental in the early stages of 2nd half. Others wanted Connors and McCarthy not to even start (or take frees in the case of the latter). Cahill backed his men and his men stood up for him.
Just donāt start talking about back-to-backs. Weāve to drink the shit out of this year as is our tradition.
In May 2024 on National Television, Donal Og Cusack poked the bear when he asked, āhas the fight gone out of Tipperaryā.
The following night a Munster Minor Final was won. The following Friday a Munster U20 Final was won. Within a month our minors went down to Nowlan Park with 13 men and won. Thurles CBS won the Harty and All Ireland Colleges over the winter. This year our U20ās went down to Nowlan Park and walked all over the home side in an AI Final. Now our Seniors who arenāt even ripe yet have beaten a seasoned Kilkenny with 14 men and walked all over Cork by 15 points in an All Ireland Final.
Weāve effectively cannibalised hurling.
I dont know how we do it.
With the pressure off now until 2039, Iād expect us to stick a few more on the roll of honour and perhaps pass out Cork soon enough.
That has to be the priority now. Nothing less can be tolerated given the gulf between the counties currently, and going forward.
Do a back to back and come back to usā¦
I have mentioned it before,Tipp are some outfit to spot a talent and throw them in head first. And invariably they swim.
Enjoy the celebrations.Well deserved.
Oh Iām wrong plenty. And happy to be proven so.
Cahill has became a lot more adaptable this year. Horses for courses is huge.
Bevans too. He was doing a msssive load previously. Adding Herity to the coaching ticket and Paul Oā Brien to performance analysis was huge.
