Pretty much the entire Tipp panel still have the complete set of Minor/U20 or 21/Senior All Ireland Medals.
Many of them are multiple All Ireland Medalists across the grades.
We are a complete enigma.
On no planet should we be losing games by 10-15 points regularly.
Even at Minor under Woodlock, Tipp hardly won a game in '21, '23 & '25 but won All Ireland’s in '22 & '24 and will probably do it again in '26.
Its complete boom and bust.

I’d agree that Tipperary will always be there or thereabouts underage due to pure numbers/culture.

Tipperary are far removed from a serious hurling county, sure they only show a bit of interest once or twice a decade.
That’s actually not a bad idea. I saw Offaly played Armagh over the weekend in some underage football equivalent. An All-Ireland B so to speak. Open draw and knockout quarter-finals. Be a way to lessen the frustration over not hurling into June.
Tipp need a fella who will usher out the old guard and rebuild with youth.

We were 3-2 down in the dying minutes yesterday morning & one of the lads brilliantly won the ball back in our own half & tried to release a team mate for a run in on goal with a searching pass. However, another of our other lads who was in a world of his own in the centre circle for much of the match, despite gentle encouragement from time to time, simply stuck out his arm like a tennis racket & swiped the ball back into our half for the opposition to gather & make it 4-2. Well I’ll be fucked. It took all my reading of @caoimhaoin ’s developmental coaching tweets to utter…’’good lad [Redacted] - we’ll just be careful of the handballs next time.”
It’s been a total shit show of a year from a Tipperary perspective.
I only listened to the game on the radio and they had the shot count at 47-35 which included 8 shots on goal go two half efforts by us.
We were beaten well in 3/4 games and even though we should have got a result in Waterford they actually out shot us down there to make it 0/4 on that.
There are so many problems but it prob all stems from an inability to retain possession from our puckout with the possible exception of the first half v Cork and Waterford.
Last year we dragged opposition half back lines with SOF, Jake and Ormonde.
This year it was basically Jake fighting a losing battle by himself. He’s been really good once again and deserves an all star nomination.
We also got a huge number of scores off turnovers from high energy all over the field. This year we lost the turnover battle all over the pitch.
Our back line received huge praise last year when we basically played total man on man and each defender playing in all 6 positions in the back line with the possible exception of Breen.
3/6 players havent come back 100% and its reflected in their form.
2/6 has been ok but not the dominant players we hoped he would be.
The last has obv got his scores but you’d wonder does it mask his overall performance.
What worked for us structurally at the back looks to have been a disaster for us this year. Having Willie Connor’s start a second half v Clare at 6 just looks plain wrong.
Dare I say if we are going to go man on man why don’t we try a full time sweeper at times like we did v Cork.
Our full forward line has obv been poor, McCarthy is obv a marked man nowadays. Forde and John McGrath have never got going, they’ve spent vast sums of games with little or no delivery.
Tobin has been a positive.
The overall structure and displacement of the squad can be probably best summarised by OOD who’s been everywhere but been nowhere. Then to leave him off v Clare in the Munster u20 final was probably Cahills worst decision of the year.
It would be some solace to be heading into the Gaelic grounds next Sunday to take on Galway in that all Ireland final.
Imagine how bad Sunday had been if the Premier view lads had posted that stuff explaining how to beat Tipp?

Heard a good one about the Tipp footballers over the weekend. They stayed in a very unionist area before the Tailteann Cup game against Antrim. One of those hotels the IRA bombed during the troubles. PNSI needed if they wanted to go for a walk around the area. Rice Krispies and the fast release carbs the night before the game and tuna or chicken wraps that were impossible to decipher between for the pre-game lunch. It’s no wonder they found themselves 13 points in arrears at one point. Wedding music till 1am but they were told to whist while playing a FIFA tournament amongst themselves. The hurlers wouldn’t tolerate it.
