Ms Thomson-Moore said that at the end of that conversation their estate agent, John Stokes, who had walked out with the Magniers, returned to the house with two brown envelopes given to him by JP containing ā¬50,000 cash.
That reads like the Magniers trying to compromise the vendors to me anyway

This is slightly different as itās the two egos involved that are continuing it.
I doubt anybody has bested Magnier or Jp in a case like this in Ireland but looks like Maurice o regan is about to do it.
