Tipperary v's Waterford

Didnt Cork beat Tipperary earlier this year? Not sure you can read them as a formline this season.

I think Tipp will win, but not by much. Waterford arent conceeding much these days and are dogged in their work back. its just they dont have the forwards to take the limited chances they get. Still, it really wouldnt suprise me to see Waterford win, and either way, I dont see either doing much to stop KK either.

Some lads are a bit selective in their reading of form lines.

To say Tipp have far superior forward is pure and utter balderdash. Based on what evidence, because if it is on their efforts aginst Galway, it must have been a different match than the one I saw. Maybe it is based on their efforts against Cork in this years championship.

Yes, Tipp should be slight favourites, but only slight.

I think its been improved beyond all doubt that Corks win against Tipp was a once off performance, which Tipp were not up for either.
I expect Waterford to put up a stubborn show, but ultimately lose.

WTB - Tipps team has changed for the better, waterfords has changed for the worse IMO. waterford are coming, but they are miles off an All-Ireland yet.

I hope Tipp win 'cos they’ll put it up to KK, whereas Waterford will get destroyed.

Tipperary really should be looking beyond Waterford to a revenge mission in the final against Kilkenny. If Shefflin and Hogan are out then they have an amazing chance. Granted they’re not hurling as collectively well as last year but it’s not too late for a streak of hot form to take hold within the squad. Of course, it’s somewhat dependent on their utterly deranged fucktard of a manager easing off whatever pills he’s been taking but they should comfortably dispose of Waterford all the same. Tipperary by 7.

They’re far better than they were in 2008

Absolutely.

Ok think of it this way. Kilkenny dismantled a Galway team at ease in the same way they did with Cork yesterday albeit not pushing up as big a score. Tipp then struggled to beat that same Galway team who played with only 3 forwards for 60 odd minutes of the game. The Tipp Galway game has been blown out of all proportion. The standard was not as high as everyone thinks it was and it’s been such a shite championship that the game sticks out as being the best by a mile.

As you say, it’s all opinions and I just think that Waterford are dogged enough to nullify Tipp and win by a close enough margin. I can’t make any justification for Tipp being so short as they are.

The conventional wisdom would suggest tipp by 4 or 5, but I think them being seen as air to KK throne is getting to them and are they really that good anyway, the more I think about it the more and more I can see the blaas winning.

KK will ate tipp alive anyway they are pissed off with the tipp lads going around blaming the ref

Tipp have a few tough choices to make before this game especially in the backs…Do they leave Paul Curran at three after a decent performance V Galway, Hayes goal aside, despite the fact he got roasted in the first half of the Munster Final last season…Pauric Maher finally showed a bit of form when moved to Centre Back against Galway late on, while O’Mahoney has been very poor so far this season, if Maher goes to 6 do you play O’Mahoney to wing back, this would be a poor move as he isn’t the most mobile and could well be roasted out there, they could well bring in Youngs who had a good game at wing back V Wexford but looked miles off the pace at midfield v Galway…Shane Maher had a fine game v Waterford in 2008 but has dropped down the pecking order since…presume rocky will be back midfield from the start which will leave a bog decision as to who starts centre forward…

Waterford on the other hand have a fairly settled side only real chages would be possibly Nagle in for Prendergast although I would expect Declan to hold his place and one or two horses for courses decisions in the forwards

WATERFORD WILL WIN A BIT OVERPRICED TO

I hope I’m wrong but I can see Tipperary covering any handicap you care to name in this game.

The performance of their u21 team was light years ahead of anything youu’ll see from a Waterford forward line and if 10 of these boys are being replaced by better men on their seniors they will win easily.

The Galway game was their first win in Croke Park in a big game in all reality, [you can’t count the Limerick semi final last year where they had no opposition] and will bring them on a good bit.

Waterford are good in defence and will try hard god bless them but snuff out Mullane and all they have is an Eoin Kelly threat from distance. Brick is the glue holding them together, if he has an off day Tipp will win this by 10 points.

Managed to get 60 notes on Waterford to win the A/I on betfair this evening at 15.5…Considering if they win at the weekend they will be at most 6.0 there is serious back and lay potential

Stop wasting your money puke

dont think I’ve ever seen you as convinced of a result as this one. I’d fancy Tipp, but not by much.

I reckon Tipp will win if their backs find a bit of form but think that Waterford and seriously overpriced…There very well could be an ambush, has the same feel about it as 2008

Ya, sure enough alright. 2008 means nothing IMO, Tipp have developed a good bit since then, Waterford are at best only as good, but i even doubt that.

I see Waterford coming stronger than ever over the next 10 years, but this team isn’t ready yet.

to be honest, I actually thought Tipp played a bit above themselves last year, and this year they havent got anywhere near that. but they are in a semi final not having hit top gear, so maybe they were aiming for September, which was something I had thought for a long time. I’m not convinced by them tho this year, I think I was expecting a bit more in the Galway game. Sunday will tell a lot about where they are, and where they’ll be for a while.

not sure about Waterford tho. I think their time came and went, and as much as they have ok underage set up, its not much better than a lot of counties around them.

I believe having watched an awful lot of Tipp in the past 3 years at all levels they have the hurlers to be as dominant as KK. Thing is Tipp have a massive problem with arrogance, putting 2 titles in a row even seems beyond them as they get so bloody carried away. You can see it in them when they talk about their underage teams, thinking they’ll walk things every year. If Sheedy is replaced i hope for their sake its not one of the U-21 management, because they look like they are filling the guys heads with shite, and the lads are believing alot of it.

They should have won the U-21 last year, not taking anything away from Clare, but Tipp had the players to do it.

On the underage, i think Waterford are top 4 underage with Tipp, KK and Galway, with Cork and Clare just behind. Everyone else are miles off. I expect Cork to start producing some serious teams over next 3-4 years at Minor as these development teams come through.

I’d be pretty convinced that historically speaking, Liam Sheedy would be the greatest slimeball of all time but as they say down in Tipp every slimeball has their day, and there is a slight possibility that he’s called this year just right for this Tipp side. Nackered, demoralized and broken after last years all-Irelands Final, they only did enough in the league, seemed utterly disinterested in Munster and appear to be arriving at the semi final stage in a spirit that some commentaters(me) felt might well be beyond them this year, in other words, whether by accident or design they might just have timed it just right this time round. Im arriving to the conclusion that if they get over Waterford they might well put it up to KK in the Final. Not entirely convinced they will beat the Blaa’s though. Waterford seem to have added consistency to their talent and are way over priced. Should be a cracker, whatever else.
