Tipperary v's Waterford

I wouldn’t read too much into that either way. You wouldn’t be expecting him to be named anyway.

Stop mullane and Waterford are sunk. Tipp have too much for them, they have all the scoring potential, while you could criticise p maher he was the best player on view on the ai final last year, class and form etc

if tipp get a 40% return on their hf line they will win by 4 or 5. This is the key area for me and I think it’s why john obrien is back in the side, he will drag browne out. You can pull out a hf to counter this but obrien is very good at timing his runs to the maximum

the 1 and 3 axis for Waterford very unconvincing for me, Clinton doest look as assured since power arrived, hope I am wrong

If it was the 1-9 of the present day and 10-15 of 2-3 years ago i’d be thinking this is a super team, but unfortunately only Mullane and to a lesser extent Shane Walsh have been anywhere near that.

Clare tried a similar tactic with Tony Browne kid, with Clancy trying to pull him out the field. second half Browne held his line and hurled a world of loose ball…Don’t think Waterford are naive enough to send Browne out after him, they will drop one of the half forwards back, possibly mulomphy, to crowd out that space on O’Brien

If the let obrien go forward untracked he will cause a lot more problems than Jonathan Clancy did and that tactic worked well for Clare in the first half of that game. With a strong wind at his back in the 2 nd half browne could afford to let him out as he was out of range at 50m, different conditions tomorrow to that day and the munster final. Won’t be any such lattitude afforded to obrien, also there is a big difference in cummins puck out and tuohy wrt accuracy. Tipp could also bring out Corbett and it’s not wise to give him any free running space

Tipp to win by 6. 2-18 to 1-15.

Tipperary 3-19 Waterford 1-16.

Hopefully Waterford win this. No links to either county but Tipperary people on the whole are a really odd, strange lot.

Tipperary 2-18 Waterford 1-14

Waterford 3-12 Tipperary 1-16

I see Declan Prendergast as the guy who’s most likely to take the easy option at some stage in that Waterford backline and if I wanted to give anyone a bit of rope it’d be him. If the Tipp forwards get the right supply they won’t be stopped regardless of who’s there. The crucial battle is in the Tipp third of the pitch. Goes with out saying that Waterford need Mullane to have a big game but someone else is going to have to cut loose as well.

If Eoin Kelly (w) can score from play, Waterford could win this. Connors, Brick, Browne, Moran, Mullane, they have enough players pkaying well to do it. And they can always bring Dan in.

Except they won’t win it, unfortunately.

Tipp 2-18
Deise 1-15

O Halloran starts for S Pren.

Not sure who I want to win this. Like all right thinking people, I’d have little time for Tipp, but I think they’re more likely to give KK a decent game in the final. As the priority for this year is anyone but Kilkenny, I’ll be reluctantly cheering for Tipp. I think they’ll do it by less than 3 points, though I’d have serious fears for their half forward line.

Waterford 2-15 Tipp 1-16

Waterford by 2

Was I hearing things or did music play over the tannoy there as Kelly was lining up that free on 8 mins?

This hasn’t begun well for young O Halloran.

Dirty one from E Kelly (W)

Ah super score.
