No not among the greatest but def worth considering as a decent weapon and not to be easily discounted.
All these fuckers on here who think Brady is the best ever, yet they are going around calling him a fucking goat. Surely the guy is a stallion if anything?!
Weirdos.
yeah he was solid, and much like Welker and Edelman, decent weapons (although I’d rate both of those above Branch in terms of effectiveness, Branch was the go to guy in the early 00’s, but I think with time, Brady improved, and those 2 worked well with him).
But my point being is that people dont rate the work of a QB who’s go to targets are on 10 yard slants, that they prefer to see a QB hit a 30/40 yard pass down the sideline, and Brady never really had those type of receivers. You make the best of what you have, and Brady certainly does that. It doesnt look as flashy as a result, and some will discount that then because its an “easy” pass and nothing no one else could do.
he’s a cheetah according to many.
Oh well done sir, well done.
Could it not be that the receivers were not targeted because of his lack of a good deep ball though?
Has Brady ever helped improve the game of an average WR?
Well Moss set the single season TD record, so that in itself rules out that he doesnt have a good deep ball. Lafell is more productive now than he was when he was in Carolina. Brandon Lloyd had his second best season ever just before he retired in one season with Brady. David Patten was shite in his first 3 or 4 years with the Giants, and produced his best when with Brady in the first years of his career. But they’ve rarely had any out and out wide receivers. The likes of Bethal Johnson, Josh Boyce, etc had the speed but never did anything. And thats only talking about the wide guys, you look at how the slot guys improved massively with Brady.
In 2001, the Defense and the tuck rule and Vinateri won the championship Brady was part of the machine. Harrison a big tall fast receiver? was he even 6’1’’? I could throw a ball to Moss and he would get close to it. I realise there’s no need to throw balls into coverage and Brady excels at minding the football/
you are arguing against your own point there really. Brady (BB/JMcD) took out the Seattle secondary, the best defence in football. They created mismatches and a lot of that was down to Brady reading (or being told, whichever you want) the defence and their coverage. If it was as easy as that, then why hadnt better QB’s taken advantage in the same manner. You are also leaving out the 4th quarter performance which when behind, very little of the plays were screens.
No no I’m not. McCarthy and Greenbay laid the template on how to take out the Seahawks Secondary in the Championship game and had them bet in the Clink. 4th quarter perforamce wasnt exactly the vaunted Seattle D, Lane was gone and his replacement Simon was picked on for huge gains. What had happened previous to Lane being injured, interception.
As I have previously stated, Brady is a decent player i dont like the myth that is built up around him. Has he ever made driven down the field to win a Superbowl? I dont think so.
Yes, in all of them he has won he has driven down the field and won them- he has done his job. Your using circumstantial shite here to nit pick… He got the team in position for the FGs or like last year drove the team from 10 behind to 4 ahead in the final quarter.
Pedantry on Harrison, you know what I mean, he is an out and out deep receiver who can go get the ball. But again, Moss played with some other class QB’s, but his most successful time was with Brady.
But again, that’s the point, Brady goes after whatever weaknesses he can find. It sounds easy, and it should be, but why doesnt it happen so regularly for others?
I’m not sure what you mean by your last point. You do know the Patriots got the ball back with 1.21 left on the clock and on their own 17 and no timeouts against the Rams? Madden on commentary was saying how they should just run out the clock and go to overtime, but Brady went 5/6 and 53 yards to set up the field goal. You might not count that, but most do. Same for the Panthers game. 1.08 left on the clock, starting on their own 40, and he went 5/6 and 37 yards to their 23 yard line for Vinatieri to kick. Or is it that because it wasnt a touchdown that he doesnt get the credit for a game winning drive? He also put them up with a TD score with 2 minutes left in last years game, and then the defence came up massive. Brady is third, behind Marino and Manning for game winning drives and could well end up first soon enough.
Lads, you’re Irish - you don’t understand the nuances of this sport so can’t prove anything definitively yourselves. Now shut up.
I’ve played tag football, pal. So please edit your post to exclude me from that generalization.
Tom Brady has signed up for two more years now will play thru 2019. Brady will be 42 when the deal expires
Un-fucking-believable.
Brady’s contract with the Pats is ridiculous and needs investigating by the NFL.
I know the precious Pats fans on here will lash out, but it stinks.
Why so?
Because he is paid significantly much less than his market value.
Once he isn’t getting paid under the table there is no problem with taking less than market value.
Yes, this I realise.
But he’s Tom Brady dammit! He wants to win! He doesn’t care about material possessions! He is football.
yeah I dont get the problem either unless they are doing something underhanded with the contract or with other money. just because he is willing to accept less than he would get elsewhere is hardly worth an NFL investigation. Usually people would commend someone for doing such a thing and not chasing the dollars. He’s hardly going broke either so it’s not as if he needs to be commanding his market value.
