If he was giving them a few bob off on a home town discount, I’d say fair enough. But he’s getting paid like a journeyman and is earning about €10 million per annum below market value.
This has been going on for a while now and it absolutely stinks.
Stinks of what though? He is a nutjob and is the only player who willingly is taking a pay cut to keep his team as competitive as possible. He has earned over $160 million and his wife has earned a similar amount, his circumstance is different to just about every other QB.
He’s leaving tens of millions on the table, so I’d say he’s restructuring it worse than every other QB.
Pats getting an unbelievable deal here.[quote=“count_of_monte_crist, post:270, topic:20088”]
So what if he takes a discount, he should be lauded for it rather than questioned.

Again, it’s more than a discount. It’s an extremely suspicious amount and questions must be asked. I’d say it’s unprecedented in the history of the game what’s going on here.
Just as a little sidenote to that point about ten QB’s earning more than him (and from the same point of reference), in the history of the game, only 2 players have earned more than Brady, both being the Manning brothers.
Pick 199 bro, do you not remember the tears from the documentary about it?
But yeah, valid point. Salary for the first couple of years would have been shite. He has done what he can to be able to keep cap space and keep the team competitive where he has an input, but at the same time not being completely short changed.
Ah yes “The Brady 6”, whatever happened to Chad Pennington?.
At the end of the day if someone asked you would you rather have 4 championships or an extra 40m on top of your vast fortune, I’m sure most players would you choose the rings.
