Hey Iām not defending Walsh or Cusack dunno how you picked up that
I just find it bemusing (not offending, dunno where you got that from either) Lance acting all cuntish with Walsh when all he did was caught the cunt out lying and cheating
There is no issue whatsoever David Walsh providing moral and emotional support to his good friend. None. Using his status and reputation to help him get a lesser sentence is a different thing altogether.
There is probably a section if the bible about doing the crime and doing the time
I donāt like the idea of character references at all. Has the bang of something introduced to help people from ārespectableā backgrounds (which coincidentally includes lawyers and judges) get lighter sentences by getting similar types to speak up for them. Crimes should speak for themselves. Incidentally, Iām not a huge fan of victim impact statements either.
Not necessarily disagreeing with the viewpoint that the references are inappropriate, but Iāve seen a few comments and articles saying people shouldnāt vilify the pair who provided the character references.
Couldnāt he have written him letters while he was/is in jail?
I agree with Braz that the character reference thing is the problem. If Walsh has been close friends with Humphries for decades he may well want to believe that Humphries briefly lost his mind and isnāt some kind of monster. As far as I know he didnāt try to explain away the crime itself did he?
