MJ did a grand job for me too when I did extension and got a new front door. I was worried as I heard the reputation. Builder and architect recommended them. I’m happy with what they did.
I need to get windows done in rest of house - May use them again but the reviews they get online are shocking.
Cheeky bastard the crapper, ref m joinery they’re so big that obviously now and then there’s balls ups, nice guys in the factory without a doubt, but every one of the 25 s in our estate have had windows and rubbers replaced and 7 at least the doors ( builder’s went bust at the time- houses now 11 yes old)
Workmanship left a lot to be desired
Agree boy,I’m in newbies fairly regular, slapped up, plumbing / electrical problems all over the gaff,I’ve a son a brickie foreman, and what he saw while working in Dublin last year appalled him, from chippies to brickies standard low in comparison to Liverpool/ London
What I was told is that Munster Joinery took on too much work during the boom and for the last few years of it they were firing out any old shit just to get the orders done. Then you also would have had a shortage of fitters so poor quality tradesmen were fitting them. Plus on top of that you had builders putting in the lowest spec products they could get. They got a bad rep off the back of all that.
In recent years things are supposed to have improved a lot. Their showroom is impressive but it is literally in the back of beyonds. The girl there showed me the low spec range of doors and to fair she said “I dont know why they still make them, I couldn’t advise anyone to get one”. They are obviously just for builders to fire into estates.
Renovated my own house a few years back I got a friend of mine who has a window company to do it. Was very happy with job. Came in about the same price as MJ.
