Stay tuned for more.
We’re all on tenderhooks here waiting
Great show on Ricky Hatton on Sky Showcase.
Reminded me of one of the great Sporting Montages. Cc @Cheasty
Boxing in America is never the same since HBO pulled out. Used to love their coverage when sky used them.
De La Hoya, Floyd, Pacquaio, Mosely and loads more. Last really good era of boxing.
The buzz for that Mayweather v Hstton fight was unbelievable at the time.
It was huge. Sport just seemed to mean way more back then.
I don’t think I’ve paid attention to any Boxing fight since Haye v Klitscko 2011 when Haye broke his toe.
The naughies was a golden age in the lower weight classes, Pacquiao Morales Cotto Mayweather Barerra
Marquez Tszyu Hatton just to name a few.
The heavy weight division has had a big of a renaissance since then to be fair but there always will be a tinge of regret Peak AJ never fought Fury.
Bringing Floyd mayweather snr in for Hatton was some fuck up. Ray Hatton doesn’t come across very well in this.
Mayweather v Pac after Pacquiao knocked out Hatton would have been huge, instead Mayweather ducked him for years until he was after his best. That was a huge disappointment as a fight fan.
Girls Aloud on BBC Two. 2008.
All certainly rideable back then.
You could do us all a favour and get a Time Machine into the past and save us from your scutter in the present day.
Only caught a little bit of it during the week but it’s downloaded and ready to watch later on. I want to see more of the mother and father and the breakup with his old coach. I winced when I saw the training with the medicine ball Hatton was doing with Mayweather Senior. Insane stuff. In a similar vein I watched the Senna documentary yesterday. Formula one in the 90s was run by some of the most dislikable individuals ever to grace gods Green Earth.
Ray Hatton doesnt come across well at all but i wont ruin it for you.
Brilliant doco as is the maradona one by the same filmmakers
Id say is chance them all tomorrow on a hunch without seeing an update
There is a significant update…
I get the “this is big” feeling less these days but I do still get it. It seems to ebb and flow between different things though.
Argentina v France in the World Cup final felt proper big, as in “this is actual all time sport and football history we’re watching here”.
I got the “this is big” feeling from the Limerick v Clare round robin game this year. Not big enough to actually pay to watch it, mind.
Dublin v Mayo 2017 had a bigness that is simply unrivalled in the last decade. The build up. The tingling sensation of anticipation. You knew the whole day would be Formula One full on from 5am getting up to 5am 24 hours later going to bed.
A complete prick I’d say.
Have we a dose of necrophilia on the forum?
Just watching it here. The auld lad is a prick
