Top 10 Irish Restaurants (that spidey visited in a week )

Thinly veiled self loathing humour.

I’d love to have a deep fat fryer, but I wouldn’t trust myself with it. I’d be fat as a fool

I empty the oil and clean it after I use it so I won’t be tempted back.

They are as much a pain in the arse to use as a juicer.

The day after I use the fryer I generally get the juicer out and drink juiced kale and apple and carrot and broccoli in a self loathing manner.

Great fucking things altogether. No home should be without one.

It was excellent surf and turf and overall great value, for the entire three courses and wine compared to the majority of other places I’ve eaten in recently.
Strasbourg Goose is very good.

Nash 19 for breakfast/brunch
Ate in the Strasbourg Goose a few years back. Best value in Cork and stunning food.

Fucking hell, its like almost every discussion on food here has to involve oven chips.

If it’s good enough for @Mac it’s good enough for me. I’ll be booking it tomorrow.
I’ll be east cork direction on Friday night, this place looks savage:

Ate there about a year ago, would highly recommend it

@Mac this place is booked out for Saturday evening. Any alternatives.

This place (http://www.jacquesrestaurant.ie/) is supposed to be very good. I wasn’t too impressed but I was sick and hungover at the time so probably not the best way to judge it.

Absolutely savage.

I can’t find the thread where forumites regale each other with brunch options so sorry for landing this query here…was it possibly @Mac or @Horsebox who recommended 3FE or whatever it’s called on Grand Canal Street? Anyone else been? Is it still on the go? I’m thinking of heading up there later on.

Hipster central. Their coffee is good but food options are limited. The kind of place you arrange to meet someone who you know will pay the bill. Avoid if in your own.

Good to see Sage is still going well, relatively cheap by Irish prices as well.

The Thai in Midleton is supposed to be very good as well.

That 3FE place was recommended as a coffee place to visit before you die which has confirmed a long held view I have held that those lists are absolutely to be ignored

What’s the Butcher’s Grill in Ranelagh like?

If that’s the case I would advise all the Dublin based Wexicans to visit before Sunday.

I live near 3FE and have popped in there a couple of times. I’m not a coffee connoisseur so it was pretty much lost on me. You don’t just order a coffee; there’s a menu with loads of different types of coffee. I had brunch/lunch there too and it was very tasty indeed in fairness.

Lost on me too. I used to go there regularly because it was convenient and I thought it was fine but I am not a coffee connoisseur. The place down the street does equally nice coffee I think.

The only place I ever had coffee where I thought it was a bit special was Philz in Palo Alto to the extent that if the franchise opportunity for Ireland ever opened up I would invite the board to invest in it as it would be a winner here
