good for them.

they go anywhere nice?

Even under McGuinness his tackling technique was as good as I ever saw. And he perfected the swarm break out often contributing with scores. A great in my eyes.

That was definitely the case in 2003 but I have a feeling he played more as an orthodox Number 8 in later years, ie 2005.

Very difficult,
Spillane is number one for me as an all rounder but he was no Maurice Fitz, Fitz was a fella you’d pay good money to see while Spillane was a pure winner, Jacko was a top top player but I’d lean towards Kavanagh, I couldn’t be picking between the weaker county heroes like Forde and Browne,
Mentions for Declan O’Sullivan, Tompkins, Canavan, Connolly,
Far too many to mention really

  1. Spillane
  2. Maurice
  3. Sean Cavanagh

He was a terrible footballer with all due respect. He did it on big occasion and was reliable and a great man but he had two standing feet and no ability

I selected Cluxton in my top 3. A tremendous keeper in his own right but has redefined not only the role of a goalkeeper but how the game is actually played.

Wherever they went, you can be sure it was before race week

What makes a GREAT? 1. Mastered the basic skills- fielding, able to kick with both feet, soloing the ball at pace, good vision, able to make space and time on the ball…comfortable playing with back to goal and not just always facing the ball…
2. Atheleticism- could get round the pitch and go past players … 3.Could lead a team, and consistently done it when most needed at the highest level and made game winning plays …

Connolly has to be in there…

Vegas.

Did wexford build on that success?
