Where do people stand on Fields of Athenry?
It’s taken on a whole life of its own since its release but as a stand alone song I like it, albeit being a bit maudlin.
Everyone knew it but it still used to be relatively niche before anfield 95 when kluivert put us to the sword. I think that’s when it took off as a big sports anthem celtic song etc. The sinn fein ira bit is always fascinating to watch the kitchen island crew nervously looking over their shoulders while half heartedly shouting it.
