Top Gangland Boss Shot Dead

Don’t get involved with that person, you will lose hours or days or even weeks of your life

I’m just glad I left Dublin for the safety of Limerick when I did.

As i thought:

However, a second statement made this evening, also believed to be from the Continuity IRA, has denied any involvement in the attack.

“The Continuity IRA wish to make it clear that we did not have any involvement in Friday’s shooting at the Regency Hotel,” it said.

“We have absolutely no involvement in criminal feuds. We see the false claim that the CIRA were involved in this act as another attempt to tarnish the name of the organisation.”

Incredible tension in the city on the commute this morning. Bullet proof vests the order of the day. A few visible glock shaped bulges inside coats as well.

And it’s not even Tit Monday.

This is not the time for jokes. The tension is unbearable. This could all go off at any time, and unlike the Limericks feuds, people who matter could get killed here.

This had a very serious knock on effect on traffic through the Fairview Ballybough area this morning. I was almost late for a medical appointment. As it turns out I am 22 minutes and counting in the waiting room.

Some poor taxi driver had both driver and passenger windows of his car smashed in this morning outside the apartment complex near the roundabout between East Link and Irish Glass site. Unbelievable tension.

Anyway, am I right in saying Eddie Hutch and The Monk are not / were not really involved in much of this feud and it was more nephews / sons who were the problem? Poor auld Eddie taken out as part of this and he did nothing only rob some money off a bank to feed his family.

It is not tense yet in North Kildare but there is a sense of fear as “chopper” continues to be questioned in Leixlip Garda station about the murder of the lad whose bits were scattered about the canal

The Cork/Dublin train was tense this morning. I was thankful to get off at Limerick junction but wished all those in my carriage well and a safe journey as I departed.

Just off the phone to my mother and she alerted me to an incident in Monaghan town at the weekend. It’s not yet clear if it’s linked to recent events in Dublin, but it is apparent that Monaghan is now part of ‘gangland’.

It’s also worth noting that the Séan Conlon speaking is Councilor Séan Conlon, and not Séan Conlon TD who was caught up in a recent glassing assault incident. Councilor Séan Conlon is an alright sort.

That fucking retard Christy Burke was just on Sean O’Rourke on RTE Radio 1 calling for the Archbishop of Dublin to mediate in the feuds.

What a fucking tool.

The government are on top of this. These recent shootings are the last sting of a dying wasp.

Priests have a proven track record of being effective mediators.

How’s baldy noonan going to sort this out?

are we calling this “all out war”?

The rewards from a life of crime seem rubbish enough. Most of these lads seem to live in homes that are not that nice and do so with a very good chance of dying young. It must be a pyramid scheme where unless you reach the pinnacle you don’t make all that much cash especially balanced against the risks
