Transfer Window - Summer 2008

Should be a good signing for City (provided they haven’t paid crazy money).

8 mill or so, considering we’re broke thats quite a coup.

Chelsea seem sure of wrapping up a deal to bring Robinho to Stamford bridge.
Not sure if he’ll be a great buy for Chelsea. Especially for the kind of money being muted.

Chelsea have risked angering Real Madrid by advertising replica Robinho shirts for sale before the transfer for the Brazil forward has been completed.

Chief executive Peter Kenyon is confident of wrapping up the deal for the 24-year-old, with Chelseas official offer online pre-empting the move by taking orders for kits with Robinhos name printed and the number to be confirmed.

Real cant really talk, they were only too happy to push Robinho out the door when they were trying to get the readies to buy Ronaldo.

Sky are reporting that Henrik Larsson is considering offers from three clubs to return to the EPL.

Setanta have him linked with Celtic.
Henrik Larsson could be set for a shock return to The Premier League or The SPL after Helsingborg revealed they are prepared to sell the veteran striker.

Helsingborgs title hopes were shattered this week when they lost 3-0 to Gefle to fall away from Elfsborg and Kalmar at the top of the table.

Now the Swedish outfit need money and are prepared to offload Larsson, who has never ruled out one more return to Britain.

“If there is an enquiry or a bid, we will look at it. It does not matter that it is Henrik Larsson,” commented Helsingborg’s spokesperson Sten-Inge Fredin to HD.

Larsson, now 36, has scored eight goals in 20 league games for Helsinborg this season, as well creating five for his team-mates.

It is believed both Celtic, where Larsson bagged 173 league goals, and Aston Villa, who are managed by Larssons former boss Martin ONeill, are both interested in his services.

“Whether the club wants to sell me is up to them,” said Larsson to Helsingborgs Dagblad.

“Should that be the case, I will then make a decision. There are only two options for me, whether I accept or do not.”

Lord Ferg will be in like flynn for Larsson if Berbatov falls through.

Not sure he would join them now after that Champions League draw. Think he might be cup-tied now that I think about it.

swp for less than half what we sold him for then a very flukey win in denmark to book our uefa cup spot and now rumour has it talks with terry henry are at an advanced stage. some 24hrs for city

Score.

How will Wright-Phillips be received by the City fans? Is he hated for chasing cash and glory or was it understood that he’d be going to a club with a chance of trophies anyway so fans didn’t begrudge him the move? Should be a decent signing anyway.

City fans wont begrudge SWP, he stayed with City longer than many imagined and we made a fortune out of him and got him back for less than half, win win all round imo.

I see city are about to wrap another 8m+ deal, this time for Pablo Zabaleta from Espanyol. A right back.

Saha to Everton.

United better have Berbatov signed by Monday. Saha as injury prone as he is was 3rd choice.

Surprised at Saha to Everton - must mean that Berbatov is imminent. Think Spurs will be short then too.

From what I believe once Spurs sign Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow then Berbatov will be sold to United.

Especially with Aaron Lennon being there.

Milner to Villa. Done Deal.

on the few occasions i have seen zabaleta play for espanyol or argentina he has played as a central midfielder…he seems to be a decent footballer with a bit of potential…well able to pick a pass…
