2.45 Wincanton. Fabulous Fred. 1 point e/w. 20/1 Bet365.

That’s a massive price, won’t last long. This one is a lightly race 8 y/o. He was placed in 7 of his 8 completed starts, the only time he was out of the frame was a Grade 3 novice hurdle. He has been off with injury problems but he has dropped a full stone in the weights. This is his second run back from that break and looking at his last run he still has ability. This is a shit enough race for it’s class. At 20/1 it is worth the chance that he either wins it easily or bombs out.

Neil Robertson to beat Judd Trump. 2 points. 6/4 numerous firms.

Judd Trump has been very good of late, and that’s probably an understatement. He can;t get complacent though and I think he might be taking things for granted which you can’t do against a world champion in Neil Robertson. The aussie is more than capable of putting up a performance and he’s the type of player that just needs half a chance to win a frame. 6/4 is a nice price about the upset.

Finians Rainbow 3.10 Ascot. 2 points. 5/2 numerous firms.

Potential Champion Chase winner, I really like this horse, he overcame a horrible mistake to win the last time he ran in a hot race at Kempton. Henderson says he has come on a bundle for that and Geraghty has said he is similar to Moscow Flyer in a way. If that’s true then we have a very exciting horse on our hands. I don’t think Al Ferof jumps well enough and he might be found out in this company, Somersby is a journeyman horse, Wishfull Thinking needs further imo. 5/2 is a good price for Finians Rainbow and should be taken.

Bet 25:

Kent Street 2.55 Haydock. 3 points 5/2.

I make this 4 horse race a match bet and I’d much rather be on Kent Street than the 4/5 shot Real Milan. Kent Street won a novice hurdle and was beaten(albit easily) by the well regarded Cinders And Ashes last time. He should come on plenty for that and I find that the Sue Smith team often get tactics spot on in these sort of small field races (I’d love to see stats on that). The fav was flattered last time and he is worth opposing with Kent Street.

Fabulous Fred bombed out unfortunately, he’ll go in somewhere this season at big odds.

Kent Street did the donkey work at Wincanton, didn’t enjoy the head wind and disappointed badly.

Finians Rainbow ran a cracker in defeat, just out-gunned in the final 100 yards, 2nd place is of no use to us.

Neil Robertson easily overcame the cocky young lad Trump for the only winning bet of the day.

Yeah Robertson is more of a pompous git, but Trump thought he had it won after he beat Ronnie and that sort of attitude always ends in tears. Frustrating day other than that. I’m trying to decide now how much I’m going to put on Robertson at 1/1 to win it before his final opponent is known. Nice card at Fairyhouse tomorrow too, TDB.

Treviso +10 handicap v Saracens. 3 points. 10/11 numerous firms.

Treviso at home to a Sarries side that just need to scrape a win for a home QF, it’s a tough place to go and 10 points is a hell of an ask. Treviso look good value with that, it will be a closer game than those market makers have it.

Kerryhead Storm 4.00 Fairyhouse (betting w/o Champagne Fever). 2 points. 9/2 PP

Champagne Fever is a strong favourite in this race and he will probably win. Kerryhead Storm is 12/1 to win it, but a very attractive 9/2 w/o the favourite. He was 3rd in his only outing in a bumper at Limerick when well supported for the Cooper yard, beaten just 1/2 length. That was a bit of a messy race as there was little pace and it turned into a sprint for the final couple of furlongs. Fairyhouse should suit him better and I can see him overturning the form with the Charles Byrnes horse, hopefully he’ll be a clear 2nd best.

First bet up as Treviso lose by 6. They were by far the better side and should/would have won it but for the referee getting injured and having to be replaced, a few major decisions went against them. Good start to the day.

Thanks DC, my strike rate on the rugby would be in the 90% range. I like to bet on rugby as the handicaps can be very attractive sometimes (e.g home advantage, teams over-rated based on freak results, one team having a much better scrum than another but are useless otherwise etc), also the points markets are great with weather playing a massive part. I think I’ve highlighted both of those factors in my bets and I’ve added plenty of discussion with those bets on this thread. I don’t post in the rugby thread as I don’t see the point, nobody cares if I hate Munster or think that Harlequins are the most over-rated team in european rugby. If I went to post in the horsey thread I’d be abused left right and center for having an opinion that’s in anyway controversial so I tend to avoid it.

That’s unture and libelous TRE’s, I’d ask you to refrain from making such ill-informed and childish statements. I’m disappointed in you.

If you were hitting a 90% strike rate on horse racing I’d doubt you’d have anyone abusing you. You don’t expect to post opinions on here and have everyone agree with you do you?
