What odds for that hurricane fly double?
Just under 5/2. It’s stated in the bet.
well done with fruity TTK
Thanks Fenners, Fruity O Rooney saved the day somewhat with his 2nd place finish. I’ll sort out the P&L figures at the end of the week.
Day 2 Bets
Wont be backing in the NH Chase.
Bet 58
Simonsig 2.05 Cheltenham. 5/2. 2 points
Think the Nicky Henderson trained favourite can win this. He’s a top quality horse that won the Racing Post Bumper at Fairyhouse last year. He’s done nothing wrong over hurdles only losing to Fingal Bay who is a real battler and that wasn’t Geraghty’s finest moment in the saddle. Not as strong a race as it could have been and there’s not much to fear. It’s a fair enough price.
I’ll be watching the RSA with interest, might back one about 10 minutes before the race but can’t make head nor tail of it, Grands Crus the obvious one but something tells me he’ll be beaten.
Bet 59
Finian’s Rainbow 3.20 Cheltenham. 5/1. 2 points
Strong trends horse. 2nd in last years Arkle, people say he’s a weak finisher but I’m not so sure, he was outbattled by Captain Chris in last year’s race and Somersby at Ascot this year. No shame in either of those. The big two are 10 and 11 years old. Time for a new young champion. Henderson thinks a lot of him too, more than he let’s on. He’s a more mature horse now and can handle the hill.
Bet 60
Abergavenny 4.00 Cheltenham. 1 point e/w. 20/1.
Rated 80+ on the flat he has looked potentially a lot better than his mark over hurdles. 3rd in the Greatwood at this track before running respectably in the valubale Ladbroke and Betfair hurdles. Shrewd handler and a capable young jockey. It’s a tough race but this one stuck out like a sore thumb for me and could be each way value. I wouldn’t argue if he was half the price he is.
No bet in the Fred Winter. They’ll all finish in a heap.
Bet 61
Circular Quay. 5.15 Cheltenham. 1 point e/w. 33/1.
Well backed when winning his only start in a Sandown bumper. Impressed me with his attitude that day. Better ground will suit and he’s stoutly bred. Paddy Brennan rides this track extremely well and it’s a very open contest. Could well win it.
well done TTK, a good day.
Thanks Fenway. A great day’s punting with two good winners. 11 point profit made on today’s bets.
Day 3?
Great stuff today TTK
Sorry I’m so late posting but other things got in the way. Not a lot of time for reasoning.
Bet 62
Peddlers Cross 1.30 Cheltenham. 3 points 7/2.
He’s the best of these, I fancied him for the Arkle so running in a Grade 2 now he can’t go unbacked. Acts at the track and wouldn’t run if he wasn’t right. Should be closer to evens.
Bet 63
Cape Tribulation 2.05 Cheltenham 1 point e/w 18/1.
This one has an outside chance, he’s been running well without his mark being effected and has gone ok at the track before. Something carrying 10-10 or less always wins this race so he’s the one I’m going to war with.
Bet 64
Oscar Whisky. 3.20 Cheltenham 2 points 5/1.
Big Bucks is a 9 y/o French bred going for 16 wins in a row. I don’t think he can do it and Oscar Whisky is the one of the best horses he will face. No worries over the 3m trip, yard on fire.
Bet 65
Kilcrea Asla 4.00 Cheltenham 1 point e/w 100/1
Massive price, out of the handicap but jockeys claim puts him back on terms. Good jumper although getting on in years, he could well reach the frame at a price, certainly not a 100/1 chance.
Bet 66
Start Me Up 16/1 4.40 Cheltenham 1 point e/w
Pretty classy type, a good 3rd last time at Navan, Nina riding, very winnable mark off 135, like his e/w chances.
well done TTK, great punting.
Savage stuff TTK.
I wasn’t on but well done
'Hon the Cape!!!
Catch me ran a cracker there as well
Smashing call on Cape Tribulation TTK. Only had him on a place but still delighted with it.
Thanks lads, always nice to bang in an 18/1 winner (backed it at 16s myself) only winner on the day but it was a nice one.
Day 4 bets.
Flat out at work here lads, on a half day out of here at 1pm. No time for reasoning, apologies.
Bet 67
Shadow Catcher 1.30 Cheltenham 10/1. 1 point e/w
Bet 68
Ted Spread 2.05 Cheltenham 16/1. 2 points e/w
Bet 69
Hard To Swallow 2.40 Cheltenham 50/1 1 point e/w
Bet 70
Toner D’Oudaries 4.40 Cheltenham 7/1. 2 points.
Best of luck TTK, be a lot of happy people around here if 2 of those win
Which 2 Mac
Ah c’mon now
I had a good Cheltenham, would have been a lot better if Toner D’Oudaries wasn’t too much of a handicap cert for his own good. The winners came with Simonsig (5/2) Finian’s Rainbow (5/1) and Cape Tribulation (18/1) while Fruity O Rooney (25/1) placed.
