First max bet of the season tonight and a small bet on a small upset in Italy.
Bet 9
Dragons v Scarlets (-3). 5 points. 10/11 numerous.
We’ve had stunning success with the 5 point bets over the years and I’m confident that will continue when Scarlets take on Dragons in a Welsh derby. Scarlets are a much better side than Dragons and have been for a number of years, they suffered defeat to Leinster in week 1 when they flew out of the blocks before being dismantled in the final 30. They then had a solid win over an improving Treviso last week and are coming to the boil nicely. Jonathan Davies is back in the game, Barclay makes his debut and with strong half back parternership of Davies/Priestland they can cause Dragons all sorts of trouble. Falateau returns for the dragons (his manager called him out of shape last week) and although they’ve had a great start they will do very well to keep this one close. Scarlets are a class above in all areas, if this game was week one the line would be 7 maybe 8. I’m looking forward to this match, plenty of cash to be made.
Bet 10
Treviso v Munster. 2 points 8/5 PP
Treviso at home are a very hard nut to crack, they’ve beaten Munster a couple of times here in this competition and won’t fear them. They had a disappointing loss to Ospreys in week 1 and played as well as could be expected away at Scarlets. Now they are back on home soil. Zebo returns for Munster but he is likely to be a little off the pace and I expect this one to be nip/tuck. The line is +4 and that is attractive but take the 8/5 that Treviso cause a mini upset.[/quote]
Got out for a small loss of 1.8 points here. Didn’t have pictures of the Scarlets game but a 7 point loss tells it’s own story! They were 14 behind early and never went ahead. If you followed me in with the maximum bet you can console yourself that you didn’t lose near as much as me on that one. Treviso had a come from behind win over Munster to salvage something on the day. A night of strange results in the Rabo, Zebre covered the +19 handicap by beating Cardiff by 5! On a side note, Worcester took another hammering tonight and our bet on them finishing last looks extremely good, even at this stage.

Ulster are 0 from 2 so far but that will change tomorrow. I was a little unconvinced with their performance against Dragons, and they should have beaten Glasgow by 10+ but that old problem of not taking their chances means they are still searching for that first win. Both those results look a little less bad now and I think Ulster can cover the 5 points needed here. In fact if I could back them for a bonus point win I would. The news that Ruan Pienaar looks to have all but signed for Toulon for next season isn’t great but he’s still on international duty and Ulster will have full focus on winning this. Connacht have a strong enough side out and much will depend on Dan Parks’ effectiveness with the boot. Ulster have a strong bench this week with the likes of Diack, Marshall and Gilroy in reserve. I can see them being 5 or 6 ahead at the break before pulling away for a comfortable victory.
I’m saying Dan is the authority in rugby, not this clown.
For all you “experience” of betting you wander into things you know nothing about, Hurling, football, rugby etc. if you just stuck to racing you’d probably better off. Knowing your own limitations is important, especially in betting Mac.

Yes I know nothing alright. That’s why I’ve set up a football betting thread that is turning me a profit after just a few weeks. That’s why I’m waiting on Boyles to pay me a hefty 3 figures on Colin Ryan to be championship top scorer at 7s. That’s why I’m sitting on Tony Kelly to be YPOTY at 7s while he’s currently nearly evens. That’s why I’ve backed MDM to be FOTY at 8s as if Dublin win on Sunday he’ll be an even money shot for the award.
It’s why I’ve noticed that Atletico Madrids prices have been wrong every week in Champions League and La Liga. Knowing nothing is quite profitable I suppose. I should try to know nothing more often I guess.

A good win here, 18-7 for Ulster who could and should have won by more. Back out of the red on the thread.

That’s a clamping.
He hasn’t win anything yet. Not that having a stab at top scorer means you know anything about the game. He would have been one if the favorites and the free taker for Clare. Also he could have picked up the top anywhere. Mac shows his ignorance in the way he views the games and the nuts an bolts of it all.
He thinks fund raising for the GAA and placing a bet makes him an expert.

The last sentence just made tea come out of my nostrils. The way you piece together snippets of info to make some wild story always makes me laugh.
Your idiocy on the first paragraph isn’t even worth replying too.

Lads, seriously, keep your shit talk out of this thread.
Just one bet for the weekend at the moment, coming on Saturday afternoon. Ulster named a strong side but absolutely no value in 10/11 -16. Edinburgh may well beat Scarlets but again it’s marginal stuff.
Bet 12
South Africa (-11) v Australia. 4 points 10/11 numerous.
South Africa gave Australia a pasting away from home a couple of weeks ago and the sides face off again in Cape Town on Saturday. Australia were 5 point favourites for the last meeting, they lost by 26. South Africa pulled away in style in the last 20 minutes that day and pretty much physically destroyed Australia. It will be the same story tomorrow. They’ve brought in Du Preez for Pienaar which looks a positive switch and the 11 point handicap looks lenient. Australia have had a long summer, contesting the Lions series and they have suffered as a result, they already sit 10 points behind the Saffies in the table and will be lucky not to finish last. James O Connor’s boozing session resulted in him being kicked off the squad and the Aussies are low in confidence. Genia is on the bench and although they have a backline that can cause untold damage, the Saffies equally have a robust defence. It might be tight in the early stages but I fully expect South Africa to come out of this one hansom winners, perhaps even gaining a bonus point.
