Canrt wait for Californication to return.

CLD can you recommend Its Always Sunny in Philly? I have heard good thigns, but never got around to downloading it.

Also, can you point out somewhere for me to download the last 2 eps of Dollhouse? I have gotten a few torrents for them now and none of them run back the credits for some reason. I use Pirates Bay and Mininova, got anywhere else? Might just watch them on surfthechannel perhaps.

Started into House and Boston Legal recently, House might be alright, Boston Legal is solid gold.
Its Always Sunny in Philly has been around a while. There are 4 series done. I wasn’t mad about series 4 but the first three are pretty good.

The show is a bit off the wall and chaotic but it has occasional touches of genius to it. It’s very non-PC.
Episode names are crude and accurate. e.g:
Sweet Dee’s Dating a Retarded Person
The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby
Dennis Looks Like a Registered Sex Offender
The Gang Exploits A Miracle
Mac Bangs Dennis’ Mom

anybody been watching “life” on network 2 ?

tis very good, had=s damian lewis as a cop who spent several years inside covicted of murder

good show but I think it’s gotten the bullet in the states

Just started watching True Blood.
6 episodes in. Not a total Buffy rip off.
Better than I expected. I’m hopeful.

Vinny Patterson looks younger in this than he did in Home and Away.

I’m fully in favour of Anna Paquin getting them out. Pity it took 6 episodes…

Saw Fringe advertised on SKY the other night, gonna give it a try, any thoughts on it CLD? All I know is that its a sci fi show from JJ, thats usually a good start imo.

saw it last year bit of a x-files rip off,not bad though

Bryan Cranston won the Emmy for best Actor for Breaking Bad again, 2nd year in a row. The end of the second series was just excellent. Incredibly dark.

I have Damages but I haven’t gotten around to watching it. Glenn Close won best Actress again.

I haven’t watched Fringe. JJ Abrams is the new king of mindfuck TV so I fully expect it to be mental.

As some of ye already mentioned Mad Men won best drama, 30 Rock won best comedy.

I’m curious around how ye watch TV shows on your computer.

Seen guys mention VLC player etc…

I have a desktop that is hooked up to my TV via:
[]A DVI cable in the back of the computer that is HDMI on the other end that goes in to my TV.
[
]An audio cable going from the computer to my home cinema.
I use Windows Media Center. I think VLC Player is crap but on the rare occasion that Media Center fails to play a file VLC somehow manages to play it. Very very rare.

Media Center is great because I have a remote control for the computer which is designed for Media Center which allows me navigate easily through the menus and go from episode to episode with great ease. Something like this makes things so easy.

on the monitor normally:D

On CLD’s recommendation, and due to the rock solid names associated with it, I decided to give Freaks and Geeks a spin. Fucking hell how did I miss this show first time around?

That’s your first mistake.

You are welcome.

6 eps in, great show, Apatow written all over it.

I see Heroes is back, as is How I Met Your Mother.

I’ve long given up on Heroes.

Now that Disney have bought Marvel I’m hopeful of an X-Men TV series that is way long overdue.

I’m following it away, just to see where it goes, its kind of a one eye on teh tv show at this stage for me though.

Hail, brothers.

So I acquired and watched a few shows over the last few days.

Californication
I watched the first two episodes of the new series. I wasn’t mad about the end of the second episode. Seemed a bit weak.
Obviously we are all amateurs compared to MBB in the scouting of slamming hotties stakes. All I know is that when I saw a certain new female character I knew she’d be in Lovely Ladies sooner rather than later. Eva Amurri you say MBB. Fabulous.

True Blood
Progressing nicely. I’m about 9 episodes in. Still enjoying it. Still pretty early days though.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Watched S05E01 and S05E02. First episode was tame enough. Second was quite good.

How I Met Your Mother
I was wondering how they would deal with the end of the last series but they worked it quite well. I hate when shows backtrack on series finales. They did well not to do so.

The Big Bang Theory
Back with a bang. [cough] As good as ever. Slight backtracking on finale but we’ll see.

Mad Men
Majestic stuff. Bizarre, disturbing, thought provoking class.

Entourage
Pissing me off. I wish E and his mentalist girlfriend would fuck off and die. Lloyd is the best thing about this series so far.

New Shows:

The Good Wife
The storyline Alicia Florrick, the wife of a politician, Peter Florrick. Her husband has been jailed following a very public sex and corruption scandal. She returns to her old job as a defense attorney to rebuild her reputation and provide for her two children. The series was partly inspired by the Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal

It’s pretty good. Well acted. Some good names in it. Julianna Margulies from ER, Josh Charles from Sports Night, Chris Noth from Sex and the City.

Cougar Town
The series is about Jules Cobb, a 40-year-old Florida woman who recently divorced and reenters a dating scene filled with younger men while living with her 17-year old son.

Courtney Cox is the main character.

I turned it off after 10 minutes. Seemed like it’s a bit of a desperate housewives type dumb girly nonsense show. Next…

Community
Community centers on Jeff (Joel McHale), a suspended lawyer who is back in school after his college degree is deemed invalid by the State Bar. The show centers on Jeff’s experiences going to community college and the people he meets there. John Oliver(English guy from The Daily Show) plays Duncan, a professor at the community college, whom Jeff represented as a lawyer. He also meets a girl, Britta, who is his main love interest in the series, as well as Pierce (Chevy Chase), an older student who has been married seven times.

A gem of a show. Very funny. My hope is that it can sustain and grow into what it has created. Better Off Ted was similar last year and it died a death after about 8 episodes.

Flashforward
FlashForward is a science-fiction television series currently in production by ABC Studios for the 20092010 television season for ABC. It is based on the 1999 novel Flashforward by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer.
The novel is set in a fictionalized and anticipatorily futuristic year 2009. The entire human race loses its consciousness for about two minutes. During that time, nearly everyone sees themselves in the future (by 6 months). Each individual experiences their own future through the senses of their future self. This “flash forward” results in multiple deaths and accidents involving vehicles, aircraft, and any other device needing human control at the time of the experiment.

This sounds AWE, wait for it, SOME! Acquired but not yet watched.

Dollhouse
Season 2 Episode 1, acquired but not yet watched.

OK, just watched FlashForward.

Quite possibly the best pilot I have ever seen.

Up there with Breaking Bad.
Incredible. And a brilliant cliffhanger ending.

[I have edited the description in the post above this. I changed the summary to reflect the little we learn from the pilot and removed some info that I don’t think is relevent]

Lobo, have you been watching this season Entourage?
