Well genius. What was the most important aspect of the story?
@anon7035031 - if you’re going to respond to Kev, spoiler it. FFS - I’m sneaking in 5 mins here and there. At this rate the 10 year anniversary boxset will be out before I’m finished.

Lads, I’ve watched the first 4 episodes of Friday Night Lights and I think its fairly mediocre. Does it get better?
Some of the acting is bad (especially Lyla, the star QBs girlfriend), the pacing isn’t great and the game scenarios and footage are awful. I watched the first 20 minutes of Making A Murderer and I’m fairly inclined to devote time to that instead.

Friday Night Lights is harmless entertainment. It’s a bit like Home and Away with American Football. I watched it on my commute and found it enjoyable but I don’t understand how it’s highly rated at all. It’s chewing gum for the eyes.

Yep, that’s my thinking exactly. Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick, but the way some people talked about it, I thought it was going to be a properly good show.
The movie with Billy Bob was a belter.
Movie was decent and the book is terrific.
Nothing wrong with the show but it’s harmless stuff.
Its a feel good show. There is room for that too. Everything doesn’t hsve to be a twisted web of detail and mind bending

Premieres on Wednesday night (in the States).
Up to episode 4 of Making a Murderer - this is off the wall.
Tom Dunne was on the radio there earlier on said it is excellent stuff.
I just finished episode 4 too, unrale. I was actually seething at one stage during it. Can’t wait to finish it then i can go into that thread. and clean house.

Just finished it tonight…I found it didn’t move quick enough from 4 onwards tho all the facts emerge from 4-7… I pretty much fast forwarded most of the last two episodes…I look forward to you cleaning house.
