Yeah it was an amazing scene. Deliberately shot to show us the death of Walter White of course and we’ll see Heisenberg back in action in the next episode. In terms of the plot the only way out for Walt is Jesse. They showed us Jesse playing video games with a kid to pave the way for that, as the one thing that will break Gus and Jesse at this point is Gus trying to kill Holly and Walt Jr. Speaking of Gus, some character the created there. Brilliant that there’s a full season left.
Cheers.
It’s up there with The Sopranos and The Wire, so it’s worth getting into. If you’re struggling to get into it might be worth reading a bit about what the core idea of the show is. The depth of it, and the level of detail, is just incredible. More than those other two shows, it’s completely changed the way I watch movies and quality drama. Everything from the colour of the clothes characters are wearing to the way a conversation is shot is hugely significant. There’s so much to take in when you watch it. It also has one of the best bad guys television has ever produced.
P.S.
I will kill your infant daughter
Is there a site that documents all the extra bits you’re mentioning. I’d spot some but there are probably more cryptic ones I’ve missed.
I don’t know to be honest. There are definitely a lot of breaking bad forums, but I’d normally only ever look at the breaking bad section on reddit which can be very good at times. There’s also a podcast (Breaking Good) which tends to feature a lot of good stuff (also some not so good) and they go through a lot of the best fan observations and theories.
One of my favourite things from the latest episodes was the foreshadowing of Ted’s demise in the last episode. Look at the clothes worn by Skyler and Gus, Ted and Don Eladio, in S04E10. Black is the colour of professionalism (usually in the criminal sense) on the show, and both Gus and Skyler were dressed in black except for a beige/grey jacket/shirt. Both Ted and Don Eladio (also dressed the same) in those scenes thought they had received gifts (the bottle of whatever it was for Don Eladio, the inheritance for Ted) but both knew by the end of the scene that this wasn’t the case.
As Gus and Skyler were both acting in those scenes under false pretences, it’s easy to see that the overshirt/jacket signaled deception, covering up what they really were in those scenes. What really nailed the parallel was the lines that Don Eladio and Ted both were given at the end of the scenes - Don Eladio says “Tu?” to Gus, Ted says “You did this?” to Skyler. Obviously Gus’ gift killed Don Eladio, and Skyler’s gift appears to have done the same to Ted. A brilliantly constructed parallel, but stuff like this is littered throughout the show
This is what mbb pm’d me earlier
"Walt shoots Jesse by mistake, causing him to go off the deep end. Unbelievable stuff really. "
Cunts should never have cancelled it.
Arrested Development will return to TV with a mini-series of new episodes leading into a movie, it has been confirmed.
The comedy, which ran for three seasons concluding in 2006, will film nine or ten new episodes before production on the feature-length film gets underway.
Series creator Mitch Hurwitz announced the news while attending the cast’s reunion at the New Yorker Festival at the weekend.
Will Arnett, who played George Bluth II on the series, later tweeted his excitement about the news, writing: “I’m peeing with @batemanjason at the moment…and we can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie.”
Jason Bateman, who played Michael Bluth on the show, also took to Twitter to say: “It’s true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early '13. VERY excited!”
The mini-season will bring viewers up to date about where the show’s characters are now, in order to reacquaint the audience with the series before the movie.
Huzzah
Love the show, just hope it doesn’t get fucked up.
Was that the last episode of Breaking Bad for the season?
No Totti, one more. Should be a cracker.
Anyone watch Terra Nova? Hard to see where this 20million is meant to have gone to in that pilot, as for the writing, christ its basically a mix of Stargate, Jurassic Park and Avatar. Disappointing, had hoped for a little more from it.
Pan Am tips along nicely, looks to have some serious potential and buzz to it, but can’t imagine The Playboy Club will get much hop, seems to be dying in the ratings. Person of Interest is losing my attention already.
Breaking Bad is just incredible. Ireland, Cymru, Breaking Bad and Ireland (preceeded by the 51) again…the next week will be just splendid.
watched terra nova, i imagine the 20 million went on building the bg fuck off set… strange to see the ude from avatar trying to be nice, but i think it might have potential from a pure turn the brain off sense
Have any of you guys watched ‘The Killing’?
yes…up to last week i would have highly recommended it .then i watched the last 2 episodes of the series …which while not being bad have me thinking i probably wont bother watching the second series…dont wanna say to much wouldnt wanna spoil it on ya…apparently the danish version its based on is vastly superior anyway…
Re the last episode of Breaking Bad
Where do people stand on the kid’s illness? Its basically down to 4 options imo
1-Gus
2-Walt
3-Jess
4-None of the above
I’d be shocked if Walt resorted to this or had the opportunity to carry it out. Unsure about it being Gus or when he could have created the opportunity to do it. Jess is in there sheerly for the possibility that he could have inadvertently left his box lying around.
Personally It think its all a herring and the kid has something like meningitis or the like and its just a way of uniting Jess and Walt. Where to from here now after the failed car bomb, God only knows.
One other thing, Saul Goodman is one of the best characters in recent tv history.
Is it an opinion or have you a spoiler of the last episode?
