Up to E07 in Homeland and its continuing to impress me. Little disappointed with some of the plot twists but willing to give them the benefit of the doubt to see where they go but everything else about this show is top notch.
Stuck with Terra Nova despite all the criticism it was getting and have been happy with its improvement in the last few episodes, I think this might have some potential and would be sorry to see it get the bullet.
Castle is back again and moving along nicely, and again, can’t give enough praise to the excellent How to Make it in America and Blue Mountain State. Tremendous fun.
Rescue Me is in my top 3 really, along with The Wire & Soprano’s. Classic stuff. Leary is a little self absorbed, but the writing in this is brilliant.
Been watching Boys From The Blackstuff for the first time in over ten years over the last week and have one episode to go. An unbelieveably great series. The Yosser Hughes episode is probably the most depressing thing ever shown on TV, but hilarious at the same time.
I’d love to see Roddy Doyle’s “Family” again. Definitely the closest RTE (co-production with BBC granted) have ever come to something as good as that and a series that needs to be re-shown.
Good stuff Kev. I don’t know how Rescue Me is not more widely lauded. It’s absolutely brilliant. And it’s practically Irish. It’s weird it’s not huge here. My favourite right now is Tommy’s dad, as played by Charles Durning. When he moves in with Lou’s uncle Red. Brilliant stuff.
