Your comprehension skills…they’re nonexistent…
I think my comprehension skills are as good as you’ll find on this forum, you aren’t very proficient at implementing an effective facade though.
The former in questionable, the latter is irrelevant
You think your ability to pull off a facade when you put on a false face is irrelevant?
Not my comprehension skills that should be in question, m8.
It’s irrelevant because it’s irrelevant… you just need to try harder, or get help
The fact that you look out of your depth against me is not irrelevant.
Why would I care if that’s how it looks to you?
Because that’s how it is.
Will Art McRory be attending too? Himself and Eugene McKenna usually come as a pair.
Brilliant. (now run along)
You can run along out of here. Know your place.
I don’t know my place. I have ideas beneath my station
You’re deluded.
You’re Il bomber destro and one other poster
You’ve been listening to the Cork fuckwits on here too much.
Sorry- two former posters and one current poster
U17 (minors) had an impressive 14 point win over Donegal today in the Ulster QF.
Tiernan McCann starts for Killyclogher today.
A big boost ahead of Monaghan.
Brendan Burns was stretchered off for Pomeroy on Friday evening so his season could be over, realistically he would not have got much game time.
Colm Cavanagh did not feature for Moy.
Still big doubts about Colm Cavanagh but other than that Tyrone should be close to full strength.
The club month certainly seems to have been of great benefit for Tyrone, county lads have now played 5 league rounds and pretty much all bar those carrying injuries have been in action. I wonder if McCurry might have been a bit hasty in packing county football in this year given he would have gotten a nice run of club football before Championship, seems to be playing very well with Edendork at present.
My XV for Monaghan.
- Morgan
- HP McGeary
- Hampsey
- McCarron
- T McCann
- F Burns
- Meyler
- Cavanagh
- McNulty
- M Donnelly
- Sludden
- Harte
- L Brennan
- McShane
- McAliskey
If Cavanagh misses out it will be a big blow, I’d like to see McClure start in that scenario but I’d say Mickey might opt to drop Mattie back in midfield and start someone like Conall McCann Kieran McGeary who did have a very good league campaign but I think he’s more suited to a wing back role. Tiernan McCann could be a bit rusty and may only feature off the bench.
McNamee has generally picked up McManus is recent meetings and has done fairly well on him but he hasn’t been at his best over the past 18 months and I don’t think he deserves to start. I’d give Hampsey that job and McCarron likely to pick up his name sake. HP McGeary had a great league campaign is aggressive and a very tight marker so I’d have no worries about him in this game.
This is going to need to be the year for the likes of Meyler, Burns, McShane etc to start to shine, they certainly showed well over the league but now it’s time for the serious business. Over the past two years we’ve been a bit too reliant on Donnelly, Cavanagh, Harte, Sludden and McCann for the big performances.
Bad news on the injury front yesterday with Mark Bradley and Lee Brennan being ruled out for 6 and 8 weeks respectively.
Bradley should be available for the last round of the qualifiers should Tyrone progress and Brennan for the second round of the Super 8s. It’s a big blow though and leaves Tyrone very lightly stocked up front.
We started off the season with 6 inside forwards:
- McAliskey
- Brennan
- Bradley
- McCurry
- O’Neill
- McHugh
Currently we only have two available, Brennan and Bradley will miss the qualifier campaign effectively and Ronan McHugh is also currently injured. McCurry dropped off the panel a few months back so we’re effectively left with Ronan O’Neill and McAliskey for the next six weeks.
I think Harte has to add players here as a matter of urgency. The best option outside the squad at the minute are probably players who have walked away or being dropped off the panel in recent years - McCurry, Niall McKenna and Kyle Coney. I’d say the differences between Coney and Harte are irreconcilable now, Coney has laid the boot into Harte at any given opportunity so it must be unlikely. McCurry would be the obvious choice but he only recently packed it as he became somewhat disillusioned with his form and what he was getting out of it and McKenna had been on the panel for the guts of 8 years without making a breakthrough.
The other option would be Emmett McNabb but he is the main man in a good Tyrone U20 side who are the favourites in Ulster and unless they are knocked out tonight I don’t see him being pulled in until such time as their involvement is over.
