agreed we spoke about this in depth in the way that European football is fantastic entertainment in july and august as sides like dundalk try to navaigate 8 matches to make a group stage - then from september to december you are into the turgid predictable dross of the groups before it kicks on again,
that was a really great game last night - proper stuff
similar to the GAA season = feb/march great action in the leagues - nothing but predictable sterilised old rubbish then from may - july before it gets going again in august
Fantastic night for the football hipsters last night with little old Spurs hammering former Champions League winners and 8-times Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund. Itās great that the competition can still throw up results like this.
Celtic have been good since the Ibrox debacle at Christmas. But itās a bit like Manchester United under Solskjaer. All 7 wins have been against modest opposition, with 6 of the games at home due to the combination of quirks in league fixture programme, a rearranged game and 2 home cup ties. A massive step up in class tonight.
Agreed
Juve athletico is wooftastic stuff allright
The second leg hopefully will go all the way to spotters .
The ajax-royal game wednesday night was classic stuff also, proper European Cup football
