That was definitely a poor visual alright. The guy mouthing “that’s bollocks” might be picked up on. If there’s anything there, it’s a good night for Labour. I suspect it might not have got much traction with the wider electorate on a bank holiday Monday night though
Paxman really needed to ask the obvious follow up question on May’s preparedness to walk away from Brexit talks with no deal, ie. what that would mean for the UK in terms of economic destruction and job losses.
Not being on BBC means lower ratings too.
You could see why she wouldn’t do a head to head debate.
It’s a sufficiently meaningless statement that she could just give the same response to any follow up

Well you can phrase it in such a way that makes the prospect of no deal as scary as it should be in reality.
She hasn’t once talked properly about what no deal would mean and given her hesitancy in interviews it wouldn’t have taken that much to put her under real pressure.
The interviews tonight were much too short, really. Even the Andrew Neil ones were too short.
