Uk affairs, The Double Lizzie Crisis (Part 1)

How is it political if it was done by some looper?

The two aren’t mutually exclusive. It’s not terribly unusual for an assassin to have a screw loose.

The guardian has form here though. As do the others. Pretending the guardian doesn’t is simply being obtuse. The guardian is often laughable. It is regularly passed off as a counterbalance to the telegraph, but the telegraph has, along with the New York Times, the highest number of boots on the ground foreign journalists, is happy to criticise all parties, is actually not all that right wing, and has the best cryptic crossword as it is the same setter every day (like the IT).

It isn’t necessarily political. You and I believe that because it was widely said across the media earlier that this person shouted “Britain First”. That has since been discredited and noone is too sure what was actually shouted.

Now it may well have been political (but there are reports out there that she was caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time) was but we are still only learning about this is mentally ill murderer. I am pointing out the hypocrisy of the media/vote Remain in pushing an angle here when it suits, when it doesn’t elsewhere. You’ll note my immediate reaction to hearing about the “Britain First” was to say this was bad for the Leave campaign but it wasn’t true. It was widely reported and jumped on by Remain though. His neighbour said he never mentioned Brexit once to him but it’s in the Guardian oped talking about Farage and Brexit. Note I am actually in favour of Britain staying in.

The only person being inconsistent here is yourself, well I don’t know what you’re at really but you’re trying to throw a lot of mud my way in the hope it will stick.

From the BBC: An eyewitness to a shooting in Birstall, which left Labour MP Jo Cox dead, says he saw a man holding a gun and shouting “Britain first or put Britain first”.

3 months of threats apparently, not necessarily from the killer

Shot her twice, stabbed her and then shot her again the face.

It could well be true but other eye witnesses says they didn’t hear that. Not cut and dry yet.

There has also been reports that he was in an altercation with another man.

Awful, awful news and tragedy. First serving Member of Parliament murdered since Ian Gow.

Hope the English vote to leave this undemocratic joke of a union.

That Geldof cunt disgraced himself again yesterday…A horrible fucking quisling if there ever was one.

No disagreement when it comes to Geldof.

However, where does this leave our Island?

I hugely disagree with someone from one part of Cullaville waking up and having to go through check points and customs searches to get to a job in Dundalk.

This island will never be bordered again. Be careful what you wish for DUP.

That’s a scare tactic imo pal…

A Peter Sutherland lie (one of many), Ourselves and the North will remain the same regardless of the result. TBH I don’t think the EU will allow them leave regardless of the result anyway.

They’ll probably be made vote again like we were for the Lisbon treaty etc…

Be a great kick in the bollocks to Brussels if they were to vote no, as it’s a completely undemocratic union and it needs to be wound up imo. Suits the few and fucks over the rest of us.

You don’t think they EU will allow them leave?

This referendum is about the Brits leaving!

If you dont think there will be a call for custom checks and border checks then you think again.

The DUP will demand them if they are instrumental in exit…but it’s tariffs that will ensure then.

It will not happen mate, not a chance.

If the Brits do vote to leave the EU, they have it legislated that’ll take 2 years before anything happens with borders etc.

If I was a betting man, I wouldn’t give odds on another referendum between now and then. It would be a foregone conclusion.

There will never be a border into the North again like before, that is a scare tactic from the pro EU crowd imo. And if the Brits were to leave I’d go so far as to say that we should too, IMO it doesn’t suit us living off the Euro…we’ve no control over interest rates or our monetary policy.

If we had the punt back we could devalue the currency straight away, become massively competitive export and tourism wise and deal with our banks properly.

We export a lot more to the English and Americans then we do the Germans, regardless of politics, The EU doesn’t really suit us, just like it doesn’t suit the Greeks, Spanish, Portuguese or the Italians to a lesser extent.

Huh? Of course there will have to be some form of border, either between the ROI or the north and the mainland UK.

Ireland was a hellhole before we joined the EU. You can criticise elements of it and even argue to leave, but the idea that we were “fucked over” by it is hilarious.

They will not vote again! This has been a sustained Brexit campaign within the Tory party for years.

As for Oireland leaving the Euro, I don’t mean to come across as a prick but are you serious?

Leave the euro and shadow sterling??

Half the businesses who aren’t paying corporation tax but employing lots of people are here because of the European gateway. We are an ‘open economy’…

What’s the difference between shadowing sterling or shadowing the Deutshmark mate?

What I’d like to see is our elected government have the power to control our own finances without having to sign it off in Brussels before our TDs have the chance to look at it. We should have the power to put money in social housing, capital expenditure. This could be done if we had control over our own independent currency/ interest rates.

What was the point of fighting to be a Republic - not a dig at yourself, but honestly we’ve signed away our sovereignty to an undemocratic 1% in Brussels since we joined them in the 70’s and it’s getting worse by the year.

Water charges, property taxes all EU directives…we’re bending over mate to this crowd and it’s sickening.

I honestly don’t buy the rhetoric that we’d be a third world country without the roads the EU paid for, look at Norway and Iceland. They’re not a million miles away from us demographically or geographically and they’re doing alright.

I’ve huge issues with the EU but we wouldn’t have the pharmaceuticals, the googles, the IFSC or the FDI’s if we weren’t in Europe.

I always find it amusing to see people talking about Ireland, which provides a tax haven for some of the world’s largest companies, signing away our sovereignty to the EU.

Huh? We spent a fucking fortune for years on what we wanted
