Ulster Championship 2024

That’s a revealing stat, where is it taken from? The turgid style of football that became the fashion up here had an awful impact on the game, thankfully this is now being realised and it is starting to recover a bit. In the rural areas where there is nothing else to do lads stuck at it, but it’s hard to convince a lad in a town to tog out to play 60 minutes of defensive rubbish. In 7-8 years there will be far more representation from the urban areas, but still not as much as there could be.

Townie cunts.

Three more years for Rory. Derry are building a nice side at the minute and he seems to be keeping a lid on the inner animosity.

Highly underrated manager. Miles better than Bonner, Gallagher shouldn’t have take the job straight on from McGuinness.

Ulster Championship draw today at 3:15. Promising to be an entertaining one this year with the Messiah back at the helm.

Prelim:
Monaghan v Cavan

Quarter-Finals
Down v Antrim
Fermanagh v Armagh
Derry v Donegal
Monaghan/Cavan v Tyrone

Great draw for Armagh

Derry vs Donegal is a banger of a draw

I fancy Donegal

Derry might win it, but in the broader picture I believe Mickey Harte was a poor appointment. A look to the past, as opposed to the future. McGuinness has his squad off on an 80k training camp in December. If anything, their strength and conditioning in addition to their mindset I imagine will have improved on last year. It’ll be a lip-licking fixture. Glad to have avoided the dreaded preliminary round, even if we’ve won Ulster from the pre-lims twice if memory serves me right.

Strange that he hasn’t even played senior for he’s club and they’re throwing him in senior inter-county.

Yeah, he’s meant to be decent. It’s the McKenna Cup, which is traditionally used to give youngsters a bit of a boost to stay involved, so not great harm. There’s argument for and against a rule break, but a fine I think may be the punishment.

Twould happen from time to time. He’d have been ineligible for Club last year but had he been he’d have played. Ne’er a big deal. Other than he’s illegal now stil

Well, this is it. They jumped the gun by a full year. It makes no sense at all.
It’s poor management and the two fingers to any other up and coming young lads.

It happened to us one year in the senior all-county-league. Another club played a 16 year old against us. I went over and told the club secretary at half time. Sure he only laughed at me.

“Do you think I’m going to complain to the referee and they beating us by six points with a 16 year old? We’d be the laughing stock.”

Different at county level I suppose.

If he was the new Murphy or Lacey, we wouldn’t give a scuttery fuck. Some people are just trigger happy for a bit of outrage for any shit that happens to be flung through the air.

Hardly. Regardless of who he was, and he must be decent to be getting the run, you can’t be at that lads

Rules are for southerners. The real rebels lie in the alaska of ireland.

Twas merely an oversight. Unless they intend to smash the entire rule and have him for championship.

Glen Maghera need to be brazen and use Johnny McGuckian tomorrow.

I’ve a feeling we’ll be seeing a few changes before throw-in.
