Unpopular opinions or views you hold

When the genuine people are told to fuck off and that they should be shipped off to a racist part of the world, you can see why they might lean more towards people peddling disinformation …

It’s your fault specifically.

There is a whole cohort of posters on this forum who have set up to deny this fact. The currently 13 posters who “liked” the screed of shite by @Gary_Birtles_Lovechi above are a good pointer as to who they are.

Deplorables are generally self selecting.

This seemingly sensible or moderate view is of course against international law. A genuine asylum case isn’t something that anyone should be rejecting on the grounds of “the country being full.” It’s untrue, immoral and selfish.

We have obligations under the Geneva Convention and under EU law and EU policy that we should be meeting. A more mature or sympathetic society might welcome the chance to offer protection to those “genuine” cases you’re mentioning.

But regrettably many people opt for mealy mouthed statements like the one above which amount to basically vetoing any refugee’s rights, lest they inconvenience the selfish minded who would rather ignore human suffering.

A policy would be a start.
I’m an Irish citizen, same as yourself mate. No need to be so defensive on behalf of your fellow Fingal resident. He got clamped, move on.

Corrected.

You couldn’t make it up.

I’ve said it before but for Irish people to complain about a pile of people from another country arriving into Ireland is deeply ironic.

A load of Irish people left Ireland in the 1840s, therefore today’s Irish have no right to criticize their government for their incompetence.

This is what the men and women of 1916-1921 died for.

Half the people in their 20s from Ireland are in Australia at the moment mate

A lot more recent that the 1840’s - and you may have been one of them.

It’s some feat of stupidity to ridicule something that happened in the past when it doesn’t suit your narrative as regards today and then throw in a faux profound reference to what you think the opinions of men from over 100 years ago were as a basis for current day policy.

17% of people born in Ireland live abroad.

The famous ‘undocumented Irish’ are no different from the Georgian lads arriving looking to do a bit of work

People go to different countries for a better standard of life, hardly surprising
